Ive been trying to update it for 3 days it gets to 99% goes away like it never even started.

Have you checked to make sure there isn't a partial installation on your system/external hard drive? If so, start the installation again, but try pushing it to your console through the Xbox store at xbox.com. Let me know what happens. Thank you.

I will check it. 1 and 3 downloaded fine just 2 seems to be the issue thank you

It eventually worked.  Power cycled 4 times and finally it completed the download fully.

I’m having the same issue. But how did you do this exactly step by step? I’m a more casual gamer and am not sure how to do this when I have the physical copy of the disc. Thank you.

Did you try the power cycling instructions I provided previously? It sounds like it took a few tries to get this resolved for the OP so it would be good to give it multiple attempts if it's not working the first time.

I'd like you to power cycle your equipment with the following steps: unplug your modem, router and console. After 2 minutes plug in the modem and router. Let them come back online completely. Then plug in your console and start it up. Let me know if that helps or not. Thanks!
