Re: [EA app] Mass Effect - Legendary Edition - Achievements don't unlock

@EA_Shepard Hi! I have the same issues but with every game I've played recently (Fallen Order,Dead Space Remake,SW Squadrons). Achievements just do not work. I couldn't for some reason create a thread so I am replying to you here . I hope the fix is on the way. Thanks

@Divine2232 Oh no! That's not good. They are looking at it. Achievements can be tricky especially when it deals with another launcher. Have you run through any steps on your end? No games is quite different than one game like the MELE or DS games.

@EA_Shepard I've just tried to run the games offline to see if it works as it did seem to for few people but nothing happened. I am always online when I play games so I don't think it's a possible sync issue.

@Divine2232 syncing i more than simply just being connected to the internet. If your EA/Steam profile is not syncing up with the data on the save that the system checks to pop that achievement, your save and profile are not communicating in that launcher in order to have the achievement system check all boxes for you.

This is when you have to start checking all boxes and eliminate what it could be. The other possibility past these steps, would be a 3rd party program conflicting with your network that isn't allowing that data to be transferred back and forth. Firewall, VPN, Antivirus, etc.

And for Steam, you have your basic steps like verifying integrity of each game.
Reinstalling the app and game as fresh installs. This checks everything you have done.

  • @EA_Shepard I've got to say, that seems like a heck of a lot of work to put on people for troubleshooting, when all which was really needed was to, you know, not force the EA App on people. Origin was by no means great, but at least it worked. Eventually. Most of the time.

And I'm of course only here because I, too, share this problem.

@EA_Shepard Everything seems to be in order.I've checked just in case and did this long list you've posted. Cloud saves work so I am not sure what could be the case at this point.

@Divine2232 It has now become one the top issues for me I have open with a few teams. I wish I had more info on these because there are still some of them I don't have that I want.
  • How is the search for a solution coming? I got tipped off that this was an issue, and it's absolutely killing my enthusiasm to continue playing, and also making me less likely to purchase other EA games at this point. I just don't understand how this is an issue that (as of my researching this) has been going on for OVER HALF A YEAR NOW. The old work arounds from back then no longer work, and I'm tired of meddling with my C:Drive.

All I want is to come home from work, shoot some aliens, get an achievement, and call it a day. Any chance this issue could maybe be escalated up a little bit more? I don't even care if the solution ends up being we have to start over for some of the achievements: as long as I know they WILL be unlocked, I'm fine with restarting. But if even that's not full proof, I'm not going to even bother playing anymore EA games.

@Fives_Of_Iron Check out my post on how to use the EA Apps offline mode as a workaround. It’s fairly simple and the only drawback I’ve experienced is that the app will occasionally error which means you won’t unlock any more achievements. Just save, exit, restart the app, and repeat steps 2-4.

  • @LiannaDrake Question: Since I noticed that deleting the profile has, in fact, reset the achievements on that in game desk option (yes, I made the back up so I didn't actually lose progress in this play through), I do have to ask. Will I have to do this for EVERY time I load up the game? Because if so, there is absolutely no way I can get the Paramore III achievement... I won't have a day where I can just blast through all three games, and romance someone in all three.

Also, you mentioned that this was due to a "corrupted save." Would just starting over fresh fix this? I.E. A new playthrough, or has anyone tried that, and still gotten no luck already, and I just haven't come across that yet?

My solution - Not going to be spending any more money on anything EA is involved in lol

@Fives_Of_Iron You only need to repeat steps 2-4 to keep earning your achievements. I have edited my post to clarify that.

The idea is to prevent the EA app from downloading the game profile that tracks your achievements, which happens when you launch one of the games from the ME Launcher. It is not the playthrough save that is corrupt but the Profile file so a new game will not fix it. I also believe that the cross game achievements are tracked in the trilogy profile file because I still kept my progress on achievements like the three Insanity and Bruiser trophies after wiping my ME2 profile. What will happen is, when the Paramour achievement triggers you will see a notification in-game for Paramour I, II and III at the same time and the EA app/Steam will show you earned Paramour III.

  • Hey man, any update on the Steam Achievements for Mass Effect? Even with the current *fix* it corrupted halfway through a play session. Appreciate your help.
