Re: mass effect andromeda won´t launch (black screen)

Regardless of it having launched before, your PC is below the system requirements. The AMD A9-9410 is about half the speed of the required AMD processor (AMD FX-6350), and you also need a dedicated graphics card, which it seems you don't have (the Radeon R5 is integrated in the CPU) (Edit: I goofed. Please read Holger's comment for clarification.). Often games can launch on PCs that are below the specifications, but behavior can be unpredictable.

I've tried the suggestions on this website but nothing seems to work

Could you specify which steps you have already taken? The most common cause of a game not launching is when other software is preventing it from doing so. Temporarily disabling antivirus software or performing a clean boot might help: https://help.ea.com/en-gb/help/faq/how-to-clean-boot-your-pc/

There is a dedicated AMD Radeon R5 M330 Oland GPU build in in this Laptop.

That is in fact a different R5 than the Stone Ridge CPU Graphic. (I know..... 🙄 )

It seems this dedicated GPU is not utilized, so I would recommand a complete uninstallation and re-installation of the GPU drivers.

But overall I agree with Fred, I doubt that you will get playable frame rates in Andromeda with this Graphic hardware.

  • Hi Fred, I have tried,

    • Uninstalling, reinstalling, and repairing the game
    • Uninstalling and reinstalling Origin
    • Uninstalling and reinstalling GPU drivers
    • Deleting MassEffectAndromeda.exe file
    • Changing the save file name
    • Disabling my antivirus
    • Tried the video Strakisz suggestion
    • Launching the game in ‘offline mode’

    Thanks.

With your CPU having 4 fewer cores than the AMD 6350 min, slower clock speeds, and generally not as good even if a newer generation, I don't think your CPU will be up to the task of getting the game to play much.

Add into this the lower than min spec on the video card and you are just asking for issues trying to play the game.

One thing about ME:Andromeda, is that the locker scene and the beginning cutscenes are often able to be run on low end hardware, as they are small areas with very limited use of the hardware, BUT as soon as you try to move past it you often get black screen forever when trying to leave the ship.

IF you do get it to work ok on this hardware, you have just had a minor miracle happen, as by hardware, it shouldn't run or at most run at less than 5fps.  My personal suggestion is to give up until you have better hardware to run the game on, but to each his own.
