I recommend looking for "NFS The Run" with "Beginning" or "Car Crusher" along with your platform. This should bring up a video that tells you which buttons to push and when.
Essentially if you see an arrow then press the corresponding arrow on the direction pad (or whatever keyboard key you have assigned to that direction), if you see a specific key flashing then repeatedly press the key/button, and if you see a key show up at the bottom of the screen and it's not flashing then you can just press it once (although pressing it repeatedly until the image disappears works too).
