@dukaslove Just to be clear, this is with a completely empty Mods folder (except Resource.cfg) and the file localthumbdreve will deleted?
Also, are you on a Mac or a PC?
Do you have a very recent last exception file you can attach to a reply?
I am on a PC windows 11. Correct only thing in mods folder is that resource.cfg
it will only allow me to post it this way

So during those few hours of going stir crazy yesterday I uninstalled game and I am starting out new. I put my sims files onto a drive and I have a clean folder. Now I can click that link and follow those steps?
What if I have a one drive? I believe that affects the gameplay as well.

Do you still have the game crashing? If so, do you have a new last exception file?
