Wort updating the firmware of the Xbox controller, we seen that have worked for several players.

@EA_Atic Thank you for this. My controller did need an update, however it did not fix my issue, which is the same as the OP. My controller works on the main screen, but after I select either practice, play now, head to head, etc. the controller stops working in game all together. I've tried unplugging all other peripherals, did not fix. Please help
