Re: Any Chance of new Hot Pursuit for NFS2021 or HP2010 HD for 2020?

@GK3512 Yeah i agree mate, Ben Walker was very misleading. When he told us that they where returning back too the roots, and personally i think that they disrespected the orginal series. When they said they celebrated the 25th anniversery, with this street racing crap Heat turned out too be with cringy story. Worst of all they used a voiceactor from Battlefield 4, i really hope this game flops as hell. So EA finally can give us a cannolball style game again, either Hot Pursuit 4 or High Stakes 2 etc.

To me Heat is disappointing. Back in March EA stated NFS is back to the root. However Heat isn't anything like the original classic era NFS.

I'm not really surprised by this. lol

Back in July, I called it that Need For Speed's 25th anniversary doesn't mean anything and that the game could still be a failure.

Just like Jump Force celebrating Shonen Jump's 50th anniversary and that game was a failure.

@TheRealJony The point is not the game isn't good.Even if EA polish this game more and let it be less buggy at launch.Heat is still a wrong direction for NFS.A more finished Heat means nothing to classic style fans, and certainly is different from real root style of NFS.If Rivals throw away open world/bugs/balance problem then it could be an alright HP4.Sadly thats not the case. And with NFS2015 fake reboot and rubbish HEAT(Horrible EA Trash) cementing Blackbox ultra mix as THE NEED FOR SPEED.The fate of the series isn't bright to me,if theres still any future NFS to be out

@BVBgamer88 Pubs/Devs without respect to series history shouldnt be allowed to continue the series.Even though lots of NFS fans hate Criterion,I still with the real Criterion can return for a HP4.After all,Criterion was the last dev strong enough to force EA let them make a HP game in first place. And had correct vision of Back 2 the Root of NFS(Craig/Alex stated so during HP2010 promotion)

I never said NFS Heat wasn't good. I also never said NFS Heat wasn't bad either.

A game being buggy isn't the whole reason why a game is a failure. There are games out there that are very well polished that are still considered failures.

    Just pointing that out.

A game could still be a failure when their respective gaming community does not like the direction the game is going.

A game could still be a failure when a game is very-well polished but has boring game mechanics (or just boring gameplay overall).

My first NFS game was NFS Underground 1. If that game didn't exist, then I wouldn't be here right now.

Sorry to say that I have nothing more to add to this when my knowledge about NFS games before NFS Underground 1 are non-existent.

@TheRealJonyExcactly most of you werent born when NFS really started in 90s, but me and GK3512and others we grewed up when NFS. Was just simple racing on tracks, yes it was illegal racing but not street racing. I loved NFS for that since we had split screen, and police chases dident had heat levels. That is something i hate from the Black Box era, High Stakes and pursuit had police cars patroling the tracks, and they worked together too bust us. Plus we dident had stupid healthbar, nor NOS all that ricer crap *. That was something i loved with NFS back in the day, they should kept the series simple like that. The tuner crap should been its own seperate spin off.

I was born in 1994, when The Need For Speed (first game) was released.

Although I couldn't play it as I was just a baby at the time. XD

I loved split screen as well with the PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube era.

Split screen was a whole lot of fun when the internet wasn't mainstream yet.

Since I played mostly Black Box NFS games, I'm more accustomed to having Heat Levels in police pursuits.

Sounded like it was a lot of fun! 🙂

Well, I made a mistake on my previous post. I forgot I played two NFS games that are older than NFS Underground 1. (That's what happens when you play a whole bunch of single player games and not stick to playing only one live-service multiplayer game)

A few months ago, I played NFS 3: Hot Pursuit 1 and NFS: Hot Pursuit 2 on PC. Since the games are much older, my expectations for them are a lot lower than newer games.

I completed them both 100% and had a lot of fun playing them.

@TheRealJony Excactly you see NFS can be fun even without story and open world racing, but yeah if you were born in 1994. Then i understand why you dont have the same relationship too series like i have, because im born in 1988. My first game was actually NFS2 SE from 1995, thats why me and a buddy had so much fun in split screen on pc. Plus in LAN mode too, yeah i know that this makes me sound very old hehe.

    I'm not disagreeing with that.

Although adding a story and open world does enhance the game if the core gameplay is good.

If driving physics sucks, then the gameplay sucks. No amount of good story and open world will fix that.

Nice to see you understand my point of view. 🙂

As I understand your point of view after playing the two Hot Pursuit games. lol

    Lots of fun! 🙂

I know about split screen (via PS2), LAN (via PC), and Wireless LAN (via PSP).

The good old days when people mostly didn't have internet yet. (I didn't have internet until 2010 when NFS World was gonna be released as online-only NFS)

It makes me sound old too...wish I could be younger. D:

    lol

@TheRealJony HP2 on PC is alright, but the PS2 by BB is the beginning of BB era(Ricer Prologue)I mean these Hollywood Explosion Junkies use Heat Seek Missiles to crash your car. And that's not in EA Seattle's other version of HP2.Race or Chase was the core gameplay of HP and most of classic era NFS. Sadly with street fever(Ricer Fever) taking over NFS. Dual line progression may never return

    @BVBgamer88

Yeah, I'm on board with your comments about us older NFS players since day one.

The problem is us older folks are unfortunately having to deal with this younger crowd.

The younger folks wanting the Hollywood "Vin Diesel Fake Movie style of game events within NFS.

Well, we all had a large taste of that now for some years now.

The game theme of "Street Racing" VS just "Illegal Racing" is night and day difference.

The new themes are boring and not what we older fans want and  NFS has lost touch with the last three Titles.

The many issues that have come to plague this Franchise are far too many to mention here.

Bottom line NFS is like a person floating in the middle of the ocean in a life preserver hoping for land.

I'd say the glory days are far gone for this Franchise.

All we will get for future titles is more "Fail To Play" NFS titles.

Brother, I just want NFS to go back to the golden classics days

The game used to be just about cars racing and having our family and friends playing for fun.

The game doesn't need that Stupid storyline or lame Avitar characters.

Have a great day and take care.

P.S. I agree with all you said and I just wanted to chime in to support you.

  • @BLVD69 A little correction-Classic Era is for Cannonball NFS/Golden Era is for FF Ricer NFS
  • @GK3512

You were replying to BVBgamer88 and said the following.

@BVBgamer88 Pubs/Devs without respect to series history shouldn't be allowed to continue the series.

    My Reply @GK3512  here.

YES, I fully agree the Devs should not be allowed to continue the Series with all the mess the last three titles have been!

Games being  "Fail on Day of Launch" which is unacceptable for the kind of cash we have to spend on these games!

I agree with your other Statement too which was

"Criterion was the last dev strong enough to force EA let them make a HP game in first place".

    My Reply:

Your right about that too and it really needs to be repeated to make it clear to the current DEVS at Ghost how to build a game!

I don't think we will see another Strong title from Ghost Studios for the NFS franchise.

The golden days are a dream now!

I'm just glad I still have my PS2 system and old titles to enjoy!

    Take care Brother.

  • @BLVD69 TBH HP2010 can be a good and bad thing. On one hand HP2010 let classic Cannonball shone one last time/On the other hand HP2010 forced EA to take tighter control over Criterion-led to the demise of Burnout series(Which I love ever since NFS went Ricers)
  • @BLVD69 Yeah i know mate, i dont know why it so hard for EA too give us older fans. A cannonball game in between all those FF games, the worst part is that there is a official FF game out next year. So EA should let 2019 be a Hot Pursuit or HS game, but no they just couldent dissapoint the Gen Z fans.

@BVBgamer88 Money. Always Money. HP2010 did well and sold around 8 Million copies or so. But UG1-MW05 all sold around 10-12 Million copies which was more. Which means more money. Which is what EA only care about. A huge rob of money
  • @GK3512 Yeah and i dont disagree with you there man, but i think its just sad that EA has lost its soul when it comes too NFS also Fifa. Money isent everything, the funny thing is that EA actually was a indie company in the 90s. But everything went too *, after they gone from Electronic Arts too just EA games,

@BVBgamer88 Maybe just Maybe. We will see a new Cannonball NFS by a NEW DEV after HEAT junk flops hell. And that means the new dev must be tough to break like Criterion once was(Now Criterion is just a name without soul)

@GUCCIxADIDASYou are wrong dude, you could have full traffic in NFS1-6.Hot pursuit 1 you could have full traffic in pursuit mode, bear in mind that im talking about the pcversions. I never played PS1\2 of any of them, tracks is better when it comes to replayebility. And also more suited for split screen racing with a friend, that is where free roam is leaking.

@BVBgamer88I don't worry about official FF game. That game is closer to Payback/The Run action thrill than just UG street ricers. So even with FF game, ricers NFS will keep gaining players/fans.Which still means more money which is sad
