Superchargers don't have any sound in digital version of NFS Unbound

Product: Need for Speed: Unbound
Platform:PlayStation 5
Summarize your bug In the Disc and Digital Version of NFS Unbound the roots, screw and centrifugal superchargers have no sound. The hellcat has its supercharger sound but the sound goes mute once you enter a race and stays mute after the race in free roam. Please Fix, the sounds are amazing and it sucks i can't hear them
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Its in the digital and physical version. You can find the bug by equipping a supercharger on any vehicle or changing the supercharger on the hellcat from super to elite and go to exhaust tuning and revving the car you can't hear the supercharger, even when you tune the sound to max exposed.
What happens when the bug occurs? No supercharger sounds can be heard on the disc and digital version
What do you expect to see? I expect to hear the supercharger whines from the centrifugal, screw and roots supercharger in free roam and races but the sound is bugged.

The superchargers don't have any sound on the disc and digital version of NFS Unbound.

  • @DarrenThom547 I'm surprised more people are not mentioning this. NfS seems to be biased towards turbos. Heat had a bug with Superchargers also and that never got fixed. Here comes a brand new game on next gen console and somehow still messed up the supercharger sound. Car sound in general is way too low in this game.

@sphynx-birkin Exactly and yesterday I found out that the superchargers can be heard but you have to be in hood camera. But like before as soon as you start a race the supercharger whines disappears and can't be heard no more until you re enter a garage. You're right the vehicle audio is way to quiet in this game, the exhaust tuning for supercharger sound exposure seems to do nothing but the turbos are louder than ever lol

I found this issue as well with my hellcat swapped srt8 challenger. As annoying as it is to deal with, I’ve found that shutting off your engine during gameplay and firing back up sometimes brings back the supercharger sounds…which is good for free roam, but not when you’re in a race lol. Either way they need to fix this

  • After playing around with it, I noticed the whine only coming from the supercharger that comes standard in the dodge charger hellcat( super, roots supercharger) but not with any elite superchargers.

    Hey Everyone,

Updating this thread, the team has released Vol 8 with various fixes. You can read the patch notes here

I wanted to check if anyone has noticed sound issues with NFS unbound after grabbing the latest update.

    Cheers!

hey @EA_Illium I have played Vol 8 and can confirm the issue still exists. The supercharger sounds will just disappear after a while driving the car. If I'm in a playlist, when I pick said car for the second race, the supercharger sound will be nonexistent. Turning the car off then on again on the start line usually fixes it, but sometimes even that doesn't work. It's puzzling

  • new update:
     - after entering race super level roots supercharger loses whine sound on Dodge Hellcat. Got it back after race restarting engine 😢 Please take a look on this I miss it so much!

    Update:
     - The super level roots supercharger does whine, on the Dodge Hellcat, exiting garage. The elite doesn't
     - The super level roots charger doesn't whine on the '15 Mustang, weird
     - I keep trying stuff randomly, the only time I get the whine is with the Dodge Hellcat with Super level Roots charger

Update: Okay my turbo sounds are somehow back, if I raise it's volume to max

Hi! Definetly still an issue as of today (PC). All forced induction sounds are just gone from my game. Tried tinkering with sound levels, exhaust sound varieties, reinstall game, install sounds mods, nothing seems to make a difference. Tried all levels and types of car mods installed, on different cars. I remember having the whine of a new Hellcat, and after upgrading the supercharger it being gone, although I can't say the upgrade directly caused it.
