Well I have tried that route 3 times over. I have moved. My IP address is different along with everything else that changes in the period of 5 years. Not to mention the fact that the email address linked to my psn is a @easports.com email, which I have never had an email account there.
As I said, i have exhausted those options. I dont understand why I cannot just create a new ea account.
Is my only recourse to return the game? And accept that I will never be able to play an ea title?

You're welcome to create a new EA account, but you wouldn't be able to move your gamertag or PSN ID to it. That's the problem. Also, when that happens, it wipes out everything associated with every EA game. All your progress, Ultimate Teams, Battlefield soldiers, etc. It's highly damaging. So, the only thing you can do besides completely start over with a new EA account and gamertag or PSN ID is to go through the account recovery process. It's understandable you wouldn't have the same IP, but the idea is that the account owner will be able to recall the information they used to create the account. It's not solely dependent on knowing the IP address. There are details we ask for as well.
There are other questions on the form, none of which are able to verify my account. I implore you to please stop being obtuse and kindly assist me with my issue and provide the best course of action.
As far as my ea account details, I havenr played any of those games. The account would have been inactive for the last 5 years. None of those... things you mention, ultimate team, battlefield stuff...do not apply to me. Not that I would consider any of tjayessential information anyways. I do not care if my wins loss record from 2015 are carried over. I only want to play the game with all the features I paid for. I apologize for speaking this way but it sounds like I am at an impasse.
Just so I am crystal clear on what is happening. I will not be able, nor will I ever be able to play ea titles online because of an incorrect email address linked to my playstation Id? I just want to be sure i have exhausted all options before returning the game and moving on.
The responses you have provided are identical to the other posts facing this issue. All of which the user was not able to play the game. I will leave this thread open in case any body else in the future runs into this problem.
Tldr::If you do not have access to the email account that is linked to your ea account, no matter how long it has been idle, you will be required to jump through several hoops to recover it, with no guaranteed success. After submitting the web form, as all of them help techs suffer, and receiving a reply that they cannot verify. Your best bet is to return the game. You are not going to be able to play it. EA you have lived up to your reputation again. I will avoid EA titles in the future as aparently their online features will remain inaccessible to me. Because of an account opened half a decade ago.
Thank you for taking the time to reply.

You can still play the game. You just need to do it on a different account. Unless you purchased the game digitally then that wouldn't be so easy. You'd have to either see if a refund is available or purchase the game again. Since you don't care about the old account, I think creating a new one is the best option.
The Game was purchased digitally. The @easports.com email address was automatically linked. I never had an option to even change the account linked to my playstation.
Suggesting the best option is to pay for another playstation online account [20 dollars] a month, in order to play the nhl 20 online is very disingenuous.
According to you, I either lose access to my game catalog from the last 10 years by creating a new account. Or return the game. This is outrageously dismissive. I only want to use the product I bought.

I totally get the frustration from this, but without verifying you own the account, there really isn't anything we can do. We can't just give access to accounts to people if they can't prove they own them. Someone would have had to access your account in order to change the email. That means either you didn't have 2 factor authentication enabled or they had access to your email so they could pass account ownership verification. We do all we can to recover accounts for people, but we have to be as sure as possible it's going to the original owner. If they can't prove they owned that account, we can't give them access.
Man, I'm very sorry. I'd be pretty crushed if this happened to me as well. I wish I had a better solution for you, but your only option to keep using this account is to go through the account recovery process. Finally, some information.
I dont think 2 factor authentication existed prior to 2016. Can you tell me when your company implemented this feature.
I believe you are misunderstanding my post. I am not implying somebody hacked my account and changed the email. I'm saying the email address is invalid. The email address [edit: email address removed] was never created. I would have to work for ea to have that domain name and I can assure you I do not.
There is no way this email is or ever was verified. I have tried to have one of the...9 techs I have spoken to via chat, and phone and tickets to tell me if the account email was verified. They have ignored these requests. Is there a way for me to see how this email was linked to my account. I dont even think an ea accounts was required in nhl 16.

Normally, what has happened is the account was hijacked and the email on it was changed. Unfortunately, we can't change this until you verify you own the account. I'm very sorry. I wish there were more that could be done, but you'll have to go through the account recovery process. The best I can recommend is what you've already done. That is to try to recall as much accurate information about the account that you can and submit the form again.
As far as when TFA was added, I don't have an exact date on that. It's been a few years at least. Possibly, your account was created before that was available, but I think we had it in 2016. We really can't give you any information about the account without verifying ownership.
Well nhl 16 came out in 2015. So that would be the year not 2016. I am very positive this account was never verified, what happens to accounts that never are verified?
I played Alex legends last year, and didnt have this issue. Also played battlefront 2 recently. Would this be the same ea account that is trying to log into my nhl 20 game?

Accounts that aren't actively using two-factor authentication run a bigger risk of being compromised. I truly wish there were more I could do to help, but since you can't verify ownership of the account, we can't give out any information on it. The only thing you can do is try submitting the account recovery request again.
Yes. You should be playing Apex and Battlefront 2 on the same EA account. That is, if you're using the same gamertag or PSN ID that you play NHL with.
Please stop suggesting the webform. It doesn't work. I am asking for your help and we are wasting time going over that form again. I reiterate once more. The webform has not worked. It is an exhausted option. Let's move forward in resolving the issue.
I do not need a lecture about 2 way authentication. I asked how long does an account that has not been verified last until it is deleted?
It is the same psn id for all the games listed. Is it possible that I can edit some of these ea account settings from another ea game that for whatever reason, automatically logs me in, while nhl 20 does not?

If an account isn't using 2 factor authentication, it will remain without it being enabled until the owner activates it. Accounts aren't deleted automatically as well.
In order to make any changes to the account, you'd need to log in at origin.ea.com to update the settings.
The only way to get the account back is to go through the account recovery process. I'm really sorry that's not working out for you, but unfortunately, that's your only option with getting access to that account again.
I find it very hard to believe that inactive accounts just sit idle forever. But I guess you dont have an answer for that. Please just say so.
If I am able to sign in automatically while playing apex legends and battlefront 2 from my ps4, (all the same psnid) shouldn't that prove the account belongs to me? Are ea account settings accessible in game? I would imagine i could sign out fron the ea account fron apex legends for example. Please just answer my questions directly.

Your EA account settings are not accessible in-game. They can only be changed at www.origin.com or by an advisor.
Can you give me any insight as to why I can be automatically logged into some ea games and not others while using the same psn id? Keeping in mind this all happens automatically.
Also how do I get an advisor? Or is that ea slang for who gets assigned my web tickets?
I am going to reinstall both battlefront 2 and apex legends and verify that they are linked to the same ea account

If you logged into those games previously on that console, they should still work. Since NHL 20 hasn't been played on that console before, it's going through the verification process. If you try to play Apex Legends and Battlefront 2 on a different console, you should be prompted to verify your account.
You can get an advisor by either contacting @EAHelp through Twitter or open a case with a live support advisor here: https://help.ea.com/en/contact-us/new/. They can't help with account recovery cases though.
We both know that link will send me into the same loop I have been in.
Apex legends finished installing. The ea account linked to this game is a different email address than the one that got automatically linked to nhl 20.
Sir, is this the correct place to ask technical questions? Its beginning to look more and more like an issue on EA s end. The email address linked to my apex legends game is the same as my normal email address. The nhl20 email address has a @easports, email associated with it. Am I in the right place?

We can't troubleshoot account issues here. That's what this is. It's not a technical or hardware issue. If you are seeing any email that is not yours, that's a problem with your account. I would suggest you contact @EAHelp through Twitter for assistance. They can at least look over the account and try to get you some information. However, they won't be able to tell you much at all if you can't verify ownership. That requires having access to the email on the account.
It seems like my account is fine. The issue is with nhl20. Somehow during the installation process, eas game filled in the email field with a @easports address. I'm not a developer there. I can only guess why. I'll try uninstalling the game and reinstalling it. That may solve the issue.
I dont have a Twitter. I'm not trying to create yet another account in order to do something that is supposed to be fun.
What questions are you even here for? It looks like it's mostly children complaining about connection issues...

Reinstalling won't resolve this. I talk to people daily about it. It's an account issue and you'll need to go through the account recovery process to get it resolved.
No worries. If you don't want to create an account, I get that. Just keep it in mind if anything changes and you want to talk to someone else about it.
We handle moderation, engagement about our games, technical issues and whatever else we can. We can't handle account issues because it's a privacy concern. We're here talking publicly and can't discuss private account details. We also have dedicated advisors that handle those cases through Twitter, Facebook and live support. If you use Facebook, you could try getting some help here: https://www.facebook.com/EAHelpHub/. The same thing applies though. They won't be able to talk about account details if you can't verify ownership.
I do not understand. You run into this issue everyday? Let's lay it out and I will elaborate
1. Bought nhl 20 and installed. Incorrect email associated with nhl 20. I never made or submitted an @easports.com email address.
2. I have an origin account. An account that is linked several ea titles on the same playstation using the same psn id.
3. You are saying I need to prove ownership of an account[@easports.com] that I have never entered, nor owned. I cannot prove ownership of an account that i dont own.
4. It is not possible to disassociate this erroneous account with my recently purchased game. Because of number 3.
This is outrageously unacceptable. I don't have a Facebook. Please stop trying to pass me off and try to devise a solution with me.

I'm not trying to pass you off. We don't handle account-related issues here. Those are handled through live support, Twitter and Facebook. You'll need to contact an advisor through those channels for assistance with this.
Did I misspeak anywhere on that previous post? I want to be sure I am explaining the issue correctly when I enter submit the seventh ticket.
I finished the re install this morning and the account being automatically linked to nhl 20 is still different than the other ea games.
Any tips on how I can prove I'm the owner of the faux ea account? That is the only way I can play this game online right?
- EA_Aljo6 years ago

The other games would be on the same EA account. I don't believe you can see the email of your account in Apex Legends and Battlefront 2. If you were to load into FIFA or Madden, you'd be able to see the email of your account.
The best way to prove you're the owner of the account is to fill out the account recovery web form with accurate information.
