A TRUE Skill-based Match-making system is needed!!!
One thing that all Battle Royales are lacking is SBMM. Respawn Entertainment, you have all the tools and stats at your disposal to achieve this. Simply setup players / squads by the following stats (that you already collect):
* K/D Ratio
* Champ wins percentage / average
* Kills per match percentage / average
For example: If I played 1,500 matches and only had 300 kills, How do you think a fight would go against someone that's played 500 matches and has 10,000 kills???
"But won't that just increase wait time in the lobby?!?"...Yea. from 15 seconds to maybe 30 seconds. Wow.
If the above suggestion doesn't work for you RESPAWN, there are plenty of other options too:
* Reduce the damage increments of armor from 25 to 15, or even 20. 20 would make sense as you could make armor total 80 and health total 100.
* Balance out gun damage or at least base them on sprint / mobility. (e.g. SMG's make you move faster, etc.)
* Match-make pre-made squads with other pre-made squads ONLY, and squads of randoms with other squads of randoms ONLY. If this can't be done 100%, at least do the best you can.
* Add option to disable cross-play.
Speaking of gun damage, it is frustrating how guns get nerfed and buffed all the time. This almost causes an exploit, because not everyone reads the release notes / updates to find out which guns are OP.
I have friends who have stopped playing Apex and have seen a lot of comments from people online saying they stopped playing because of the awful matchmaking.
Expand your "Horizon" RESPAWN and compromise (not cater) to more players!!!
