Mirage: Cloak when BEING Revived please

It gets bad when the reviver of the group is Mirage and he's the one who's dying all the time. No one really wants to pick him back up because he doesn't cloak when being revived. I believe everyone who plays as or plays with a Mirage would love this so they'd actually have a reason or less fear when reviving him.

  • Sick change!   Reward the player for being knocked too!   Let’s go further with it.  Let’s just make mirage invisible the whole game…  Like dude you’re already spamming your ult and tactical ability every second of the match.  Now I have to search for Waldo to let you revive back to full health before fighting you again?  Lol.  Wild request

  • Mirage is first dead every time. No one targets anyone other than Mirage. And they always know the real Mirage from decoys. When your reviver is dead, your team is dead. It's not rewarding him for dying, it's giving his allies some slack and a chance to get their reviver back.

Don't use sarcasm, it's pure toxicity. Be realistic.

Mirage is not "the reviver." Anyone can revive, you just like to be invisible because it's more fun to get easy kills than to be killed. And if everyone knows the real Mirage from the decoys then maybe it's time for another legend? Quick aside, I can't tell one from the other. Ever. For me he is the single hardest legend to kill in this game. Admittedly, I'm not knocking on the masters' tier any time soon, so maybe it's a "skill" I haven't learned yet, but 35k matches into this crapfest and I'm reasonably certain it's harder than all the "buff Mirage" Mirage users claim that it is.

  • I'm in silver and I can tell the real Mirage from decoys. Watch the movements at least. Once you learn decoy from real, then comes the challenge of spotting fake-decoys, a skill that hasn't yet taken root because there are still many players who shoot decoys. I know that skill from Valorant: Yoru. Effectively, just hold W and hope you don't get shot. One wrong move and they'll tell you aren't a decoy. But, since half the players in Apex still shoot decoys for some reason, that skill hasn't been able to root in Apex yet. It relies on people being able to tell decoy from real and holding their fire so they don't get revealed (or in Yoru's case blinded). Since Apexers still shoot the decoy, they can't practice fake-decoying as they still get shot anyways because people still shoot the decoys anyways.

Rule 1 of spotting decoys: If they are moving in a straight line, it's probably a decoy.

Rule 2 of spotting decoys: If they run straight into fire, it's probably a decoy.

Rule 3 of spotting decoys: If they run into walls, they are probably decoys.

Rule 1 of being a fake-decoy: Run in a straight line, don't sprint, and hope you don't get shot anyways.

Rule 2 of being a fake-decoy: If you run into a wall, just hold W, don't turn. If you can't move anymore, quit pressing buttons. Hope you don't get shot.

Rule 3 of being a fake-decoy: If you get shot, the trick is up. Turn and run or open fire, but don't stay put.

Rule 4 of being a fake-decoy: If people have a tendency to shoot the decoy, don't attempt it.

As for the being revived part, what's the point of invisible revives if he's not invisible when being revived?

He's the weakest character of all imo. Plus the healthbars thing is a dead giveaway. If he's struck when casting or before casting, healthbar doesn't follow decoy and reveals the him from decoy too easily. At least Ult cast purges it for a moment, unless under auto fire in which purge is unpurged almost immediately, which is 90% of gunfights.

Thanks for that. It all made good sense and it will come in handy in the future, at least if I'm far enough away from the target (as I always prefer to be when possible.) But up close, with squadmates shooting and two other enemies and fog-of-battle and such... there's just no why to read that kind of engagement in the amount of time that's available to you. Which is "none." In the half a second it would take to suss out the real Mirage, he's already one-clipped me with an R99. Every. Single. Time.

  • When I'm Mirage, if I pop my party in combat, I tend to get oofed halfway through casting it. Then I'm left for dead as I don't turn anyone invisible when they are reviving me. Left for dead, every time. I'm tired of it. If My invisrevive carried over to allies reviving me, then people would revive Mirage more often.

At least the heal effect carries over when Mirage, or any Support for that matter, is revived by a non-support.

  • I've been using Lifeline for a bit now, got a duo win in trios, just me and Watson. Vantage left in the second to final ring, afkd to the end. Ranked. Ranked up from Silver II to Silver I.
That heal speed buff from Lifeline's Ult, is epic.
And as NewCastle, 3min energized vs squad shield recovery is a tough choice. Reducing tac cooldown by 8sec is the blue I go for. I wish his revive shield was further back, but that's for another thread.
Point is I don't always play Mirage. He has his moments, but what happens to me when I use him has me preferring other toons instead.
I feel like everyone sees through his decoys and can always tell me from them. Kind of like how I tell decoys from Mirage without needing Vantage's scope passive.
And being downed is problematic for the crew.

And if you do have trouble telling decoy from Mirage, Vantage is another way. Her passive tells you if it's Mirage or Decoy. If it's always close quarters, use a 1x so aiming doesn't blind you like a 3x+. I've been doing ok with a 2x recently though, if you're good with one too you can use that.

Alternatively, nuke em all with a Knuckle Cluster or Frag, or throw a Snare through them because it will hit only the real one. If open area, rain rockets as Valkyrie. Or hit them all with an EMP, erases all the Decoys.
I'm pretty sure knuckle and grenades don't trigger bamboozle, but I could be wrong. Same for rockets.
EMP and Snare don't trigger bamboozle. EMP erases them and Snare ignores them hitting only Mirage. Look for the tether, it's definitely the real one. Or when hit by fence or arc star, the decoys die and Mirage has electric particles.

Yes, it's annoying to a Mirage Player how many ways there are to disolve his kit.

Right, Seer and Max Rank Ballistic, have Silence powers. Seer's tac always, and Ballistic with a certain perk but only on successful overheat. Though Ballistic's might not be the best for... well the overheat marker would still be visible, so that could help you.

Another situational one, Maggie. He casts it behind a crate or door, drill it. He casts it in your face or at a little distance, Wrecking Ball. WB will crush most of the Decoys anyways, and explode them all if hits hims just as he releases them. Requires a bit of timing.

Caustic... if gas don't hurt him, he's a decoy. Else, he's Mirage.

Catalyst: Spikes only trigger when real Mirage is near, and instakill decoys while triggered.

Pathfinder: Grenades are the only real option, unless you can spot him in less than a second and shoot him.

Most Skirmishers: Pathfinder Scenario. Horizon's Blackhole might be the only Skirmisher counter.

Most Assaults and Controllers have a counter. At least half the Recons have a counter. Bloodhound may be the only one to not truly counter it, save for footsteps tracking.
Supports are about in the same boat as Skirmishers.
Gibraltar has bombardment and NewCastle has Wall Slam. The rest of them are fairly Skirmisher in that scenario.

Rampart... unless you count Sheila, who procs bamboozle, she doesn't really have a counter. But she does have a barricade that can block bullets.

    And I'm rambling...
