@JuicyPotat0 The old map was good, but at some point we’ve got to move on. With a new map, the devs can make all sorts of changes that wouldn’t be possible lore wise in the old map. Also, the new map is bigger.
Moving on = disappointing major part of playerbase?
Moving on doesn’t have to mean leaving older features behind. I’ve played a game that has died of decisions like these. I’m almost sure nobody wanted turbocharger to be removed either. Havoc is basically lowest tier AR now. Same for skullpiercer. Was a fine Hop-up which rewards good aim (or luck). Almost no reason to remove it besides: ‘*WE* feel like it’s too strong,’ and some whining new players getting stomped by people being good and happening to have the Hop-up equipped. Hell, are they going to delete selectfire too? Because Prowler gets ‘too powerful in *OUR* opinion,’?
- @Sir_Named No no no no no no no no no no no. I don’t care about lore. I just want to be able to play on my favorite map, Kings Canyon, it’s about nostalgia and fun. In the old map you could have a squad under your belt with descent loot within the first 2 minutes and be onto the next battle. High intensity, edge of your seat gameplay that I really loved. Games were no longer than 10-15 min. NOW, Worlds edge forces you to loot for 10-15 minutes (after which you have nothing more than a p2020, and grey armor), walk for miles and miles through WIDE OPEN stretches of the map, get ambushed on your pilgrimage to the next city, just to get sent back to lobby after some guy In a 3rd or 4th party instantly kills you with an R-99 from a mile away. Then do it all again. Look Respawn, we appreciate the work you put in for this new map, BUT JUST LIKE MCDONALDS SELLS BIG MACS PERMANENTLY, YOU MUST LET US PLAY KINGS CANYON PERMANENTLY!!!!!!!!!!!!! I might even be inclined to PAY MONEY for a battle pass again.
- @PianoMan_99 Kings canyon also has a lot of 3rd partying. If I got into a fight and tried to loot, there would usually be some other squad who came to attack me.
King’s canyon also has worse loot than World’s Edge. In World’s Edge, you could get gold armor from a cargo bot, or use a vault, or use the care packages. King’s canyon only offers the care package and the loot ship for high tier loot.
First, McDonalds is a completely different thing than Respawn. They sell food, not video games.
Second, if McDonalds found a better recipe for their Big Mac, they’d use it and not sell the old one.
