Mixing premades with randoms is what needs to stop.
It's making Duo mode a joke; pred duos Vs me + rando lvl30 gold; wtf?!?
Tbh it doesn't matter though; my discord group have moved on, the in-game invite system is necessarily disabled, so making no acquaintances is impossible, and I've run out of patience with randoms.
I'm done for this season.
P.s. For the record this event was siht; worst yet. Duos offered some hope, but with the matchmaking how it is.... garbage.
sbmm is a shlt show in casual games. seems legit for ranked mode. i dont play ranked tho, could careless about a rank or badge. i just wanna kill motherƒuckers. thats why i make a new account everyday, sometimes 2. not my fault...
i understand yall are doing what you think is best for the game, it just doesnt work for me and my skill level.
.. brb registering new account.

I've asked for SBMM. Yes, one of those people.
Look, friends. SBMM wasn't implemented because devs wanted to waste some time and programming. It was implemented, cause the open random lobbies were unplayable for the majority of players (who is, surprisingly, mostly low skill-chillers, and not tryhards) and in the second season people started to leave.
For me (lower gold\0.5 k\d) and players of my kind (and believe me, I'me not special) it's simple enough - we can play and have fun, we stay. We have too much frustration - we leave. And how we get our comfort play - SBMM or not - it isn't significant. Just so happens, that the SBMM is the best way we have now to make this game suitable for the majority of the player base. Is it ideal? Guess not. Is it working? Definitely.
BTW, Smurfing isn't a big problem either. Multiple smurf accounts made by people meeting all of the following criteria - 1) High gold\Platum level of skill 2) loathing for a high K\D number as a primary goal of play 3) indecent (or just sh1tty person). There is some amount of such people in the overall player population, but I doubt they are statistically significant.

This is a bit crazy attituded man.
You don't see a bigger picture here.
I don't play for KD, in-fact I only checked it now when you mentioned this and in season 1 I was around 0.8KD. Right now I am around 1,3KD and not because of SBMM but because of challenging better players, learning the game, stop being a loot goblin and simply becoming a bit better.
What they do with SBMM is transfer the frustration from low KD players to higher KD players and make low KD players lazy. I mean, why would you improve if the system is rigged in the way to match you with someone to carry you? This is plain silly to make it easier for one group of players and ruin it for others, how is it a fix to ANYTHING?
If this is supposed to be SKILL-BASED why not match players of similar level and skill instead of mixing it all up? Same comes with ranked, it's complete fail seeing gold level guys in my team being matched against diamond and predator. How is it fair?
- 5 years ago@just-brajan As I said earlier - SBMM, in its current state, isn't ideal, but overall it works - statistically, to keep the player numbers up. (Actually, it's the only big picture out there) Should Respawn make it work better for the higher-tier players? Yes, of course. Should it come at the expense of less-skilled players? Definitely not.
Also, it's interesting, how this game attracts so many education specialists. I don't know what's your experience with the improvement process, dear colleague, but my experience as a university teacher and the ex-military instructor tells me that people show much better results facing relatively simple and well-explained challenges, and a very hard, almost impossible tasks lead only to learned helplessness.
Also, let's not forget that the game should be fun at any stage, and there's nothing wrong with being lazy when playing a game. It's not a job and even not a workout.
