Re: Aim assist - Feedback from professionals

When professionals talk about anything in life, non professionals listen to professionals

You can’t ignore what they’re saying because they are professionals, that’s not how life works

Aim assist gives players 0ms reaction time.

Aim assist ignores visual clutter.

Aim assist ignores fatigue.

Aim assist forces players who want to be competitive to play with a controller because aim assist give the input way to much value

Aim assist is a over-tuned and needs to be nerfed severely

Aim assist makes it so controller players don’t even have to predict where to shoot because it automatically tracks players

  • @Tspin Nah. If I have some understanding of the topic then I won't listen to an illogical opinion. If I have 0 understanding then I'll blindly listen to whatever I'm told. Like when my doctor tells me to consume X amount of poison until the pain goes away.

If the pros say dumb things then I'll accept it's ONLY a reality at the level they're playing or just idiotic bias from another biased person.

The list you made is also laughably untrue if taken at face value. If we assume you're exaggerating to be dramatic then some of it is technically true but meaningfully worthless.

There was a study done to determine the aim assist debate for controller/PC and a determination of why. A program run thousands of simulator runs much like the one used in the canceled show ( The Deadliest Warrior) to bridge the gap between console and PC. Look that up and you'll see real professionals on why it is what it is.

People that play video games and stream to make money IMO are not gaming professionals. The ones that make the programming, algorithm, do the coding and so fourth... those IMO are the professionals.

The others, are just people who play too much video games in life and don't contribute a whole lot to society.

I will desperately try and find this study and post it here as soon as I can. I would love to hear the comments from the PC players and rollers after seeing it.

They're not doctors. They're hedge fund managers. Take anything they say with a grain of salt. It's primarily self-serving.

I searched for over 2 and a half hours for this online on my days off, could not find it. I can't remember which company did the study either. This was about 3 years ago, maybe more.

They ran all these cool, firing and aim training programs with a bunch of random gamers on console and PC. This program took everything into play such as PC movement, key binding, Console's stick play and many many other factors.

They ran these programs and had two individuals on both inputs that matched almost identically in the simulator programs and then pitted them against each other in hundreds and hundreds of 1 V 1 battles and adjust accordingly until such a time that both player were batting 500.

It was literally like The Deadliest Warrior show.

@reconzero Thank you, that is more what I meant to say... you said it better. These pros (not all of them) usually complain for what is best for them. It is their income and livelihood after all. So exactly what you said... definitely with a grain of salt.

"Aim assist makes it so controller players don’t even have to predict where to shoot because it automatically tracks players" hahaha sorry that made me laugh, if only it's as easy as you make out. Funny how the vast majority of casual players on PC who try controller revert back to M&K as they can't do anything on controller. You make it sound like it's OP and easy on controller, it's the opposite.

@DaleFox2012 Did you even watch the three minutes of podcast between the professional players. This isn’t the opinion of some hardstuck gold boomer. They are the literal best of the best. .0001 of players. Discussing aim assistance. Go to page one and click the link.
  • That doesn't mean they know what'sbest for the rest of the 99.9999% of players.
They aonly know how AA affects 'their lobbies'.
The best of the best players can take advatage of AA that no 'real' casual player can.

AA doesn't aim for you, you still need to have thumbs.
But...if you're thumbs are top lobby, then AA becomes a borderline exploit.

So the devs need to find a balance.
Make AA comfortable enough so that a casual player can enjoy the game, but punish people (trying to) exploiting it.

Everybody with a controller gets the same amount of aim assist. On all levels of play aim assist is one clipping enemies. Pros have better position and situational awareness. Again, the aim assistance is literally a software that all controllers have and use at all levels.

The casual players probably get more out of it than the professionals in terms of one clipping enemies.

Largely, low skill players don’t use hard cover, run out into the open and get absolutely fried by players with aim assistance.

But again professional players know how to take space and force enemies into positions without hard cover. And once that happens, aim assistance takes over and one clips professional enemies.

Aim assistance is software. It is over tuned and honestly it’s players who think it’s balanced that make the game worse for everybody.

There are only 18 professional MnK players left in the game. The rest have swapped to controller. We’re approaching a 100% controller meta because of how over tuned aim assistance is.

Apex is about to go down and the most unbalanced game in history. EA and Respawn have no communication with their community. They are literally the most disconnected developers in the industry.

  • We need to all start realizing/agreeing to, is that no matter what discussions are going on, this is simply an Unfair Problem in the game that needs to go away, that's all there is to it.

Playing this game right now as a MnK player, is not fun!

Aim Assist needs to be removed from this game on PC.

@AnyBrains Maybe lower it a little sure but no way should it be completely removed. I'm always playing in PC lobbies on console and there's so much us controller players could complain about but it is what it is.

@matzesingt Yeah, neo strafing, tap strafing, config super glides 100% of the time. Controllers can move while looting, reload behind knocked players. Controller players can do it all.

Those are videos from PC: 1) and 2) both examples when casual mouse and keyboard players say the game plays itself while aim assist players watch.

Currently, all mouse and keyboard professional players have swapped and feel forced to swap to controller because of the over powered state of aim assist, only 18 MnK pros remain.

It's so Anoying, my Season K/D reaches again (very fast now because of the new Event Mode) the 1,5 point... and again, I always get into Master Lobbys!

These are mostly Cheaters, they have a visible aim assist & less or none recoil!

    @Tspin
Don't forget the players who use an adapter that emulates a controller.

So, as long as respawn basically offers the cheats themselves... it will never be a fair game for mouse and keyboard players!
