@Imsovachavent had people teaming up in solos yet.. though multiple times in trios and duos before the update... teaming is in every mode its not just solos...

but yeah having no duos means if you are in a party of two people you dont know what to play... and since many people (me included) dont want to have a random teammate, many people might join solos and teamup.

although my friend and i will probably rather play another game and play apex only solo now... sad but thats what we got.. ;(

i really like the solos mode, hopefully it stays in the game, next to duos, as two permanent gamemodes
