One does not simply "take cover to heal" when being pursued in close range. And no, the R-99 does not take "a few seconds" to kill. It takes roughly one second, maybe even less, to empty the entire clip with a level 3 magazine, killing targets before they even have a chance to react. Furthermore, the recoil is far too precise for an SMG. Fire an SMG with that fire-rate should make the gun kite to each corner of the screen, but instead, it's a gazer beam.

It's a laser beam with too little recoil using a controller. On PC with a mouse, it's got a substantial amount of recoil.
Look at this Tweet clip from the official Apex channel no less:
21 seconds in, just lazers the poor Bloodhound. He's got a blue barrel & a purple mag, and there's no rise with the barrel whatsoever, no horizontal wavering. Now go to the Firing Range on PC and try an R99 with a blue barrel and a purple mag. 😉
