I can see from your pov how this rework was better and I partially agree, but a lot of critiques coming from path mains is that Respawn are being hypocritical in their pursuit of balancing him. They initially nerfed the cooldown from 15 sec to 35 sec because they said that repositioning mid-fight using the grapple (short distance) was too strong. When path players rightfully complained, they could have cut the cooldown to 25 sec and it would have pleased more people. But now, they’ve made it so that short distance grapples can be performed more often than before (~10 sec compared to the original 15 sec), which is the opposite of what they initially wanted, and long range grapples are now being penalized with sometimes 40+ sec cooldowns, which is infuriating because it discourages the use (and enjoyment) of combining long distance grapples with Apex’s movement tech such as slide jumping down hills and air strafing. I know this is a long winded response but bottom line I just hope Respawn bring him closer to where he should be (25 sec) and allow him to have a higher skill ceiling for those that put the time in.
