Re: You shouldn't penalize players for server issues!

@jjoyce009 you are right, this shouldn't be done. Why they do it? Easier then doing a system that actually can track if you got disconnected or you left willingly from the game. CS GO has this kind of system, a game from 2012 but Apex doesn't, can't that kind of system be implemented here?

@Eshshshss Maybe a system like CS GO has, don't know for sure if it can be done here or not but they can try at least.

Game should be able to tell if you disconnected willingly or just got disconnected because of the server issues, see how its done in CS GO and probably other games too. If you are leaving a match willingly then yes you should get the penalty immediately. If you are randomly disconnected because of lag/crushes, etc then it should be a time(e.g 2 to 5 minutes) until you get the penalty and to have the possibility to rejoin the game. If you get multiple disconnects because of the game/servers/internet then it should just not give you a penalty and let you join another match.

Also the part where you said that he should not play while servers are bad, can't agree with you, imagine paying money to buy the skins and can't play the game, what is the point of buying staff in the game if anytime there could be a problem that will not let you play? It's not players fault that servers are bad, its Respawn/EA problem, they should fix it somehow or just remove the penalty in ranked until they fix their issue with the servers. Of course this will lead to other staff like people leaving games like in pubs, too early, but if it can be implemented a system like the one in CS GO you will not have those problems.

It's easier to not play while game it's bad or has server issues but imagine this happening after you bought staff in shop, will you say the same thing? What if this continually happens and you can't play the game for a long period of time, you just throw the money and time invested to the garbage trash? It's easy to say "don't play the game when its bad"  but maybe some people invested time and money in this game and want to play it, not to leave and play something else.

I am no developer, yet I can't imagine how this could work. All info goes from your PC to Apex server.
If Apex server itself crashes -> it probably does not store any info about why you "quit"/got disconnected, unless there is some sort of backup for error logging or benchmark done afterwards e.g. if the server crashes then compare all player stats who were in the server at a time period and apply loss forgivness.

And even then how would you separate cases where say ISP gateway crashes and disconnects a player or a player plugs his router out of the power socket and basically imitates the same thing. Even further then if that can be tracked how to see either it was a power outage (sort of unintentional quit) vs actual plugging router out of a socket...

Finally, we all know that Apex servers run as they run not explicitly because EA wants to provide all equal chance to play, probably there is cost-saving also involved. So yeah the game is and will be in beta-testing probably till it dies which means that stuff regularly will not work, crash and you just have to deal with that fact.

Payment for skins...man where to start. First I guess google something like "how companies exploit microtransactions" and read about this business model to understand how you were alleviated from your funds via clever blingy shiny things no one sane enough actually does not care.
Second, your payment terms probably state somewhere that you are buying just a cosmetics not a 24/7 service and great customer support, if that would be the case prices would have at least a few extra zeros on the left side of the comma/dot/decimal separator.
Don't be that naive 😉 and read cases where accounts that have spent hundreds or even thousands have been permanently banned without any comments, EA owns you and your money, this is their playground and if you think you and your 10, 100, 1000 EUR or $ or any other currency will make 1.6 Billion (or whatever) budget budge you are bad in math, business and critical thinking.
  • @Eshshshss I'm also no developer but regarding the system that i was talking from CS GO, if other game developers can do it i think Respawn can also do it but i think there is no desire to do it because for sure it will cost money and we know how EA is handling money topics.

Regarding the skins purchases, i was just talking in general, never bought anything in Apex and will never buy because of the state of the game and how EA just laughs at us with their micro-transactions and gambling for skins. I think there are people who bought staff in game and can't play the game anymore due to bans that have no real reason or because of the servers problems.

I know that for sure EA doesn't care if I'm buying or not staff or if I'm playing or not the game, it's just sad how they only care about money and just destroy a nice game with their stupid decisions.

@JohNNyBLK001 things people do when it comes to money and fame 🙂 Apex is the least of our worries (unfortunately). But that's a topic for another forum, not this.
