I as always was hype for the event and still am, but i do have to admit the tactics to get my money here is very cheeky.. The forth currency is just blatant EA looking to grab cash because we already have a 3 currency in place Apex coins (hard cash), Legend Tokens (in abundance for levelling, but cant use) and crafting materials (cosmetics). If they were listening to the player base.. We have been banging on about how to use the Legend Tokens and whats the point of them.. This event should have been set up to use LT instead of these CROWNS rubbish...
For me; it seems they did not think about events at the beginning to be able to set the 3 currency system up properly to take the events into consideration.
i.e Capping levelling at 100 so no one gets any more apex coins, however still letting you level up to get LT to no end (limitless). Coupled with them not giving anything to spend them on (apart from the odd new legend or after spending hard cash) for so long players now have them in an abundance rendering them useless to EA from there perspective (big mistake of theirs imo)
If they new and had worked faster releasing content they could have set the events utilising LT and still had them behind a paywall just as they are now.
Or they did know and they are just looking to roll out constant what i would call "smash and grab" events.
Its probably the latter!
@dtOddity92 : you say the Blood Hound set is just a preview, is that right? it says this on google when i searched:
"You’ll have to unlock all 24 items in the Iron Crown Collection first, and after doing so, you have the option to buy the heirloom set for 3,500 Apex Coins."
@anyone - Also does anyone know why its called a "Heirloom set" if the set consist of one item? the word set implies more than one item to me.. as i'm not sure what these items are can someone say?
thank you
- 6 years ago@Slippy-Sneak An heirloom is an artefact passed down through generations of a family. It's a trinket of some kind that you inherit from your ancestors. The word doesn't have anything to do with an amount of something, it's just a way of saying "something passed down through generations of a family".

Hi, I just wanted to pop in with a clarification. If you purchase the Heirloom set you'll unlock the Axe as well as a banner pose and an intro quip.
Also once this is unlocked it's yours, after the event finishes.- 6 years ago@EA_David Great, thanks for confirming. Is it possible to still get the Wraith one? if so how?
As a full time worker; I think these items are the only items i will pay for but going through so many apex packs does make me think twice.
- 6 years ago@Anlbrd Funny hahaha, but not quite the answer i was looking for.
- 6 years ago@Slippy-Sneak Now I understand, I think. The "set" part would be because there's presumably going to be one for each character.
- 6 years ago@Slippy-Sneak I couldn't agree more with your statement on how the Crowns currency is an unnecessary ploy to encourage spending.
However when reading that the new form of currency will automatically convert into crafting materials at the end fo the event, it's a little easier to see that crowns and crafting materials are essentially the same thing only geared towards the minor less impressive event content.
It's 120 crowns for a rare Longshot DMR skin, right? Isn't it 120 crafting material per rare skin as well?
The 600 legend tokens per level up after reaching level 100 is definitely something I would like to see changed fo the better.
As for Respawn listening to the player base, I would argue that this event has to some extend demonstrated their ability to listen to what players want.
Although they've always stated Apex Legends will, at its core, be a team game, that sill hasn't stopped them from introducing a single mode after the community asked for it.
Also, in regards to the Heirloom loot pack, it turns out the 3,500 coin cost does intact result in you receiving Bloodhounds, melee weapon, intro quip and banner pose. The whole "preview" thing is just an example of bad user interface design and poor wording.
