Tl;dr
But I already know what its about.
Reddit is on fire. And not in a positive way. EA took a great game and really did toss it into the dumpster for shareholders.
This is the same thing that happened to SW:BF2. Twitch will be lit for about two weeks, then the fanbase will disappear. Rest of us hardcore fans will more than likely disappear into the next game.
EA shot Respawn in the face and failed to learn from its previous AAA titles.
I feel really bad for the Respawn studio.
LETS GIVE EA CREDIT WHERE IT'S DUE
EA is giving us Exactly what we asked for, if you don't wont to spend 35 bucks on a heirloom item then fine, that's your free choice and I respect you for that, but why are you bad mouthing EA for giving you Exactly what you wanted, be content!!
EA is giving you the opportunity to spend your money on their Product that they don't have to provide, would you be happier if this event never happened - No you wouldn't so stop griping
This game is awesome, great Job EA love to see more Soon.
The Falcon Beta
- 6 years ago@thefalconbeta The point you've presented is valid and this game is most certainly a good one.
People should and will always have to pay for the content they want.
And yes it is the individuals' choice as to whether or not they fork out the up to $80 or so for a big bag of premium coins. I'm not disputing that, nor the fact that this method of monetisation is perfectly legal.
However in the case of Apex Legends, the main concern of many players is that when they do invest their money, it is only for a mere chance to get what they want.
If every 30 apex packs guarantees a single Legendary item and players pay enough to obtain said 30 packs, would it really be all that wrong for players to then have the opportunity to select which legendary skin that want?
My first legendary item was a Mozambique skin.
*sighs at remembering the disappointment*
It would've been nice to be able to choose one for myself.
Sure I described EA as "the enemy" but that is only to highlight the fact players who spend money on the game have no control over what they're actually rewarded with.
Overall however, you're right in how we should give credit where it's due.
EA and Respawn have produced great content at a considerably fast rate for a free to play game. Compared to a game like Anthem which was supposed to be the years biggest game but only proven to be sorely lacking in content after however many months, Apex Legends in that same time has seen multiple community requested game modes added, greater number of cosmetic items added and hundreds of core game mechanic fixes, improvements and refinements.
Players are getting what they ask for.
Although players shouldn't be expected to tolerate price inflation without a justified reason as to why it is in place.- 6 years ago@dtOddity92 I agree that the apex pack mechanic should be changed and I will give you that

200$ skins is plain crap and with performance like this its * hilarious
- 6 years ago@thefalconbeta The fact you don't see how wrong this is, its mind blowing.

Its not wrong but it is revolting Plus they said that the were taking it off the game so in a way we all helped fix the problem Good Job everyone!!

I understand companies need to make money but the way they went about Iron Crown was wrong in my opinion. I'm actually more ruffled that Respawn had the gall to call me a freeloader on Reddit. Big oof in the PR department; hopefully you can make it up to the people who pay for mtx...
