​EA mods, Is It Okay To Change The Video Config Files?​

@Popa2capsFor Origin developer mode? I don't know what else it can be used for, but I used to keep my Origin in dev mode. Or you might be referring to config files.

na, I just want to remove shadows to gain some FPS.

Rule of thumb is to use the ingame settings menu to adjust settings, editing files are a gray area and you are at risk.

@Popa2capsIn reality this is a option given to everyone with the advanced launch options. -dev is the input used. I would use the advance launch options just to be safe just in case.

Wait, so adding the command line -dev would allow me to change the "setting.csm_enabled" ingame?

Also, I'm not the type of person to live life by uncertainty, Either it's okay or not. It's quite frankly a very simple question and I find it more concerning that no EA and/ or Respawn developer replied with the answer (It shows to me that most don't know or got confused by my question altogether, I could have written it better).

Thanks though, I did track down some rules of Apex Legends for tournaments and it does state that changing the setting "setting.csm_enabled" "0" (it's located at AB8.3) is allowed directly for competitors.
