Elite controllers are not cheating, they simply allow the person to bind functions to the paddles.
How ever using third party software is viewed as cheating. I have seen substantially more of the rapid fire mods and no recoil. There are players in almost every lobby, but I have faith that it will be addressed. It seems like one specific console has a much higher number of players using it than the other.
- 5 years ago@DarthValtrex I’ve heard the opposite— that the mods aren’t considered cheating and that’s why we aren’t seeing bans on the console side of things.
I recently got into an argument with an online “friend” who revealed they have been using it for the anti-recoil functions. This is what prompted me to start asking other players at the Diamond/Masters level about strikepack use. I was literally offended at how many have Strikepacks with specific anti-recoil gun mods.
And this makes complete sense. I have pretty good aim on console and some of what I feel (and spectate) just doesn’t make any logical sense. One clipped by a Volt from 300 meters? Wait what?- DarthValtrex5 years agoHero (Retired)
@Axs5626Sxa5001The last I read from any source that was reliable, the mods are viewed as cheating. You can look at the EA TOS at the link below and it clearly states third party softwares are ban offenses. Macros loaded on a strike pack that rapid fire or remove recoil would be using third party software.
How ever as I said, I don't believe the strike packs themselves are something you would be banned for. It's not the strike pack that's doing the anti-recoil it's a third party software loaded onto the strike pack. I think many of the people who think the anti-recoil macros are okay, have simply confused that Strike packs with no mods are okay but strike packs with third party software are not. That's at least my understanding and that's my opinion.
That is at least my understanding, if I'm wrong perhaps one of the CM could clear it up for us.
I would stay away from using it, some might be getting away with it for now. I'm sure the EA TOS department will investigate it and take appropriate action if needed. Just look at the nearly 500 Diamond-Predator players who won't be able to play all of Season 7...
EA really wants a fun, fair and competitive environment for everyone.

I would agree 1 clipping someone at 300M with a volt is highly suspect. Most players have a difficult time landing shots with a sniper at 300M let alone a Volt.
On the bright side look at how good you are? You can compete with people who have software helping them... Imagine how much you'll shred when they are not in the lobby?!- 5 years ago
Jesus Christ get rid of Controllersupport for pc and let us pc players out of f. Crossplay
- GRiPSViGiL5 years agoSeasoned Ace@Axs5626Sxa5001 LOL people are posers. They wish they were something they aren't. Problem is this participation trophy generation has no moral compass to realize how cheesey it is. They are to dumb to understand that automation is cheating.
However, when the game companies allow it...not much an honest player using their own skills can do about it.- aisthebestletter5 years agoSeasoned Ace@GRiPSViGiL I disagree that it is "this generation". People have been cheating in literally every competition for hundreds of years or more.

Strike packs don’t do that. If u got beamed by a volt from that far it’s either a god tier player or a hacker. I’ve seen YouTube videos and they help close and medium range for sure but you still won’t be able to consistently hit the back target in the firing range from the weapons platform, for example
- 4 years ago@AceofDiamonds97X Who are you replying to?
- GH0STEDbyME5 years agoHero@DarthValtrex See. I think strike packs/elite controllers aren't cheating in themselves, provided they only use the paddles, but it's a dodgy subject where you can argue that it gives a player more of an advantage over others just because they can throw more money at something.
- 5 years ago@GH0STEDbyME Mousemacros are not cheating either then
- 5 years ago
micro vs additional button is different subject, premium mouse has additional buttons on it like controllers.
I don't consider "more buttons" is cheating but any micro form bind two buttons is cheating.

@GH0STEDbyME I use an elite controller. I don't see how the controller in itself would be cheating. I have the paddles set up for jump, slide and crouch on one side and the other side is set to heal and tactical. All it does is move the button function down to the paddle. It's not a huge advantage, it's actually got me killed quite a few times. Accidentally press the heal paddle and I start popping a cell mid fight... At best it might make me slightly more mobile and slightly quicker to pop a cell/battery. But the difference is minimal.
You can get a strike pack fairly cheap and have a similar set up. It's basically like taking two track athletes, one has cheap sneakers and the other expensive name brand sneakers. Both sneakers weight the same, have same grip and so on. No advantage is gained by the sneakers. Now when people use macros/mods such as antirecoil, that is like one athlete using steroids while the other does not.
I've gone into the firing range with friends who use standard controllers. They are still better than me and there is no difference in my performance against them.- GH0STEDbyME5 years agoHero@DarthValtrex I couldn't really comment until I played with one myself to be honest but I'd imagine it would be easier to jump or crouch spam. I didn't mean cheating, I meant it as more of a player having an advantage (of whatever degree) due to being able to invest more money.
I'd argue the case with the sneakers as there is a massive difference in footwear when it comes to running track but that's a different conversation xD The steroids comment stands.

Theres absolutely nothing wrong with using strike packs ONLY for the paddles. Elite controllers (as far as i know) only allow the paddles to be used as extra buttons and I think thats great! I personally dont like controllers because i feel theyre clunky and not really made for quick paced action unless you adopt a very irregular controller style thats usually just plain uncomfortable, imho.
However, strike packs have built in mods that allow the users of them to have even stronger aim assist and/or take out any recoil when firing a weapon. Just so theres no confusion: i mean the user doesnt have to adjust their aim from recoil like legitimate players do, the strike pack automatically does it for them. Im talking like, straight from the package to the controller and the mods are ready to use. THAT is where the cheating aspect comes in. The strike pack manipulates the controllers inputs and (depending on the mods used/ settings of said mods) can give the people using them a very unfair advantage over the vast majority of the player base by basically taking out certain aspects of gameplay.
I personally hate that this is whats happening to FPS gaming. Pretty soon there will be no skill associated with playing FPS games because they'll basically play themselves for people who throw money at their problems.
- 4 years ago@ButtCleavage THIS, is Exactly why ALL STRIKE PACKS, should be COMPLETELY BANNED, Full Stop.
If YOU, argue for the right to USE, STRIKE PACKS, you are perpetuating the PROBLEM.
If someone wants to have paddle buttons, they need to get a PRO Controller.
RESPAWN, NEED’s to develop a way to DETECT people, using these STRIKE PACKS.
My opinion is 100%, & NO-ONE can CHANGE, my Mind.
