@hayhorWe don’t. We download more than PS ppl tho. Apex itself is 70gb for a while and last time it was roughly 60gb for new update (map update + character).
So bad luck @OldTreeCreeper, it’s gonna cost you at least a day and a half. Whatever size ps gets, put at least 33% more for xbox, whatever the game, but usually around 50% tho 😈
@Cro_Pittt I don’t find 40 big actually. Not because I download that size in mere minutes 😈 (flexing if you’ve ever seen it) but because files are getting bigger and throughout the gaming industry it’s nowadays a fact that compression techniques are not as applied as they were in the hayday.
Indie devs use compression heavily cause they want their files to be as small as possible cause they know players like that whereas bigger devs just leave lots of files ‘open’ and even don’t remove unused files.
Read an article about it some years ago right before Gears 5 dropped and they spoke with some industry insiders on the problem and how games were already surpassing 100gb even tho they needn’t be
@Koochi-QI think we might do. When I was having those glitching bugs a couple of months ago I completely erased and reset my XBox and downloaded Apex from scratch. The size of the download was exactly the same size as the last time it updated (it updated twice in a week if I remember).
- @EdwardDLuffy Nahhh, you’re xbox was on crack 😈. My files never need to download the full size for any game including apex.
Apex started out as a 20 or 30gb game. It got larger and turned into a 40 base game. Now it’s at 70 and due to this update, it’ll likely be at least a 75-80 one. I have never, even for a new map update, downloaded the same amount of data. It’s usually around 70/80% if new stuff comes along.
Xbox has stated why but I didn’t want to know the reason why they did it this was but it basically downloads all new files while leaving untouched ones alone. This makes sense cause lots change with a big update so much to update.
But I do remember you’re 80’s-US-pandemic-stricken thing and recalled being amazed that you had to do it while I didn’t 😜 - @Koochi-Q Jeez. Your schlong must be microscopic.
See I knew @OldTreeCreeper and oldandknackered were the same person! Clearly the only way to know this is from hiding in the tree outside his window!
@EdwardDLuffyWell schlong indicates that it’s massive already... so massively microscopic is still at least average 😈

@Koochi-Q 72 gig update for xbox, its going to take at least a day and a half 🤨 I'm currently at 3.28 gig
I totally forgot to start my install last night. Looking like 32 hours according to my DL status bar. At least I never have to deal with first day shenanigans. Still have to dl on my gfs PS4 as well, just can't do them at the same time... ☹️

Well... I downloaded... lemme tell you... it feels as if I’m playing a battlefield game... the amount of searching is unparalleled... not fun searching for so long.

I mean, in good news, I'm finally watching both parts of Batman: The Long Halloween, since those two movies take about 4 hours to watch. And that's about how long Apex is going to take to finish. Haha. @GH0STEDbyME 6.77 gig done, 9.4%. Its going to be a long long night, possibly 2. 😉
@hayhor well perhaps @EdwardDLuffy has made a different inroad into @Koochi-Q 's life, such as by hacking his xbox 😃

- @hayhor I'll admit, I live in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by nothing, lol. My internet absolutely stinks out here. I left to go into town and now that I'm back, disappointed to see I'm up to 47 hours on my DL.

- @hayhor I used to have a PS4, then traded it in for an XBOX One & have never looked back, I had so many issues with bad controllers, bad hardware, etc.
In my 20+ years of gaming experience, I've had issues with BOTH company's (Red Ring on Xbox360)(Playstation3&4 having disk reading issues)
Ever since I've had an Xbox One, I have had 0 problems with the console, not to mention the fact that Microsoft is A LOT easier to deal with, than Sony, when it comes to troubleshooting & fixing console/controller issues.
I've had to replace so many ps4 controllers because of stick drift, and I still have yet to replace an xbox controller.
So I think i'll stick with xbox. @hayhor my friend, I am nearly there! Just 10 gig to go. I may even hit my new record of 24 hours to dl Apex 😃
Had a quick look at thd lobby when it said ready to play, but the rendering was horrible. Have to wait so....
- @SILVERisSORRY I switched from Xbox to ps after the 360 debacle and I've never had an issue with a ps3 or ps4. Actually I still have my release ps4 working well.
Also not sure if you are aware but my console vs PC and ps vs Xbox posts are sarcastic. - @JonStriker126 XD well I’m no batman person but hope you had a good time watching the movies and may your savagery on the new map be prosperous.
@hayhor yup, more ppl on ps than xbox... most def want to switch but can’t handle the console greatness... or are in denial about the inferior controller 😈 just as @OldTreeCreeper mentioned. @hayhor just over 24 hours to dl. Stand back, I'm going in 🙌🥳
