Yes, Andrew Wilson confirmed on an investor call that there is a roadmap for "Apex 2.0" But don't think it's any time soon and don't think it's a new game. It will be an overhaul, probably not as substantial as we'd like or as substantial as the game needs. And it won't happen before the new Battlefield which drops next year. So Apex 2.0 sometime in 2027. That's a long time for this game to limp forward, imo. My question for Wilson would be this: If we take the downward revenue trajectory of the last two seasons and extrapolate forward to 2027, will there even be enough of a player base left to justify the costs of an overhaul no matter how humble the scale?
reconzero Last I've heard about this, they had said there won't be an Apex 2.0, (but then again, that's what my friends had told me, so I'm not entirely sure).

Thing to remember is that there's a huge difference between an overhaul and an entirely new game. The descriptor "2.0" makes it sound like "Apex Legends 2," which it definitely will not be. They've said they won't do it and I'm sure they meant it. A new game would cost hundreds of millions of dollars. Instead they now have given themselves up to two full years to figure out what is the minimum they can get away with and how little they can spend in order to get there. Cynical, I know. But that's EA.
