Apex badly needs new game modes
Ive played this game over 100 hours. But i havent played at all the last 3 days and still have no desire to play right now Part of it is just natural burnout from playing a game a lot. Part of it is...
@DukeOfSquirtles thank you for bringing up something other than "THIS IS A TEAM GAME OH MY GOD SOLOS WILL RUIN IT"
On the issue of splitting the playerbase unfortunately this reason is not good either. Now if this were a small indie game with a population of 10,000 players i would totally agree.
Its not. Apex has over 55 million (probably a lot more by now) players so the splitting playerbase argument is invalid
Lets say as an example half of all players migrate over and play only solo, you still have at least 27.5 million left in squads, a substantial amount which in reality would likely be much higher than that
Look at any other battle royale game fortnite pubg blackout etc. Why arent they worried about splitting the playerbase? Why do they all have more than one mode?
Blackout and firestorm have way less players than apex, yet firestorm has 2 modes (about to add a third) and blackout has 4 modes, in addition to all the modes in regular multiplayer that both games have
So how would you explain the idea that splitting the playerbase was not an issue in these games yet will become one in apex?
It wont be an issue, solos must be added in asap

Well you can take into consideration PUBG, granted it's still not as large as apex but still has a large audience or did, they had squads, duos, and solo. Not to mention they had TPP and FPP which already causes a rift in everything as a whole but then they went and did individual map selection which in turn only split things up more in terms of certain maps becoming a lot less popular to play thus making queue times longer.
So while it might not make a huge split in playerbase they might want to avoid it all together.
One of the key factors also is that other br games, like say fortnite, don't have special abilities to characters, every character is the same in terms of having no abilities only cosmetic changes. Blackout was the same if I recall? Only played one or two games of blackout, firestorm same thing, it even says when you start up in firestorm that class specific advantages have been turned off. So for apex, it becomes difficult because every legend has their own abilities and advantages.
Which of course they can go the route of firestorm and disable any and all legend specific abilities.
But then it becomes just another br by doing that, the fun of having different abilities and different play styles gets taken away. And that's what makes this game fun and different.
