It will never work
You can't get badges from doing this and stats won't count to de-incentivise higher ranking players from abusing the system. This is purely for the benefit of new players that have friends that already play the game.

I do see the merits to both arguments here. To assist lower level friends in beginners lobbies is a nice idea, but realistically you're going to need much stronger debuffs to even the playing field, otherwise you'll still just end up wiping a good portion of the lobby and it isn't fair on the rest of the newbies out there, they already have smurfs to contend with.
Honestly i would go as far as a 50% damage output reduction, even then you'll probably beat the average newb...but at it least gives them a much better chance of defending themselves.
- 5 years ago@MandatoryIDtag Could limit them to certain weapons instead?

@Cabowse Possibly, but to what? Any weapon is deadly when there is a skill gap, that's why i suggested a straight up damage nerf.
I guarantee that if you made an smurf account now and jumped into your first match you would either hit a 20 bomb or be damn close.
I made a topic a while back about how i made a smurf account to spectate newbies play, i would kill myself and just watch the match from their perspective.
The evasive movement was none exsistent, the accuracy was non exsistent, spatial awareness was again non exsistent.
Had i gone in their with the intent to wipe out noobs i'd probably have a 20 bomb 4k smurf right now,a few heal nerfs etc wouldn't change that.
As i said originally i really do like the idea of it, it's just a matter of finding that balance without alienating new players from the game.
