I apologize but I just can't accept this as an answer.

Why because I was lucky before the patch am I now being punished.

I earned that heirloom and now EA is going to keep it hostage by putting it behind a giant paywall.

They should let you refund the heirloom you got before the patch once without requiring me to pay a ransom!

@Dirkdonder I am only but a humble volunteer, everything that I'm saying is pure speculation. I can see things going that way but I've been wrong in the past.

I think @DarthValtrex is right, there does need to be some cost if exchanging heirlooms becomes an option, but I think in your case and many others including my own; heirlooms gained before the patch should be exchangeable for free.

@Dirkdonder It has nothing to do with punishing you. It’s just to prevent people from
abusing a system that’s intended yo help people in your position. They could allow 1 free heirloom exchange for every player. After that there needs be some way to control the deconstruction/reconstruction.

  @Cabowse This weeks notion is (dont know if its been mentioned before) ability to call out for favorite gun or two in game. Maby its only for the seriously habitual like me, but I do take a shine to a specific set of guns and stick to it like glue, like at the moment it's the spitfire and the Lstar.

    @CabowseDon't know if has been mentioned before, but the ability to quit during the drop if solo/duo in trios, or solo in duos. If a duo in trios you could just punch a button to send message "<gametag> wishes to quit, X to quit, Y to continue drop". Would become active as soon as the squad is less than complete during the drop.
