@hayhor I absolutely agree, the complexities of this game are probably astronomical. But even so, I don't think its a good enough "excuse." Every game is complex but
yes some are much more so than others. If the current devs are having difficulties handling the amount of issues and/or can't fix them, then find the people who can. Instead it feels like they're throwing their hands up saying their doing the best they can, when in reality they probably could be doing a lot more.
My hope is either this new rise in popularity will make EA realize what they actually have here and will decide to dump a ton of time and money into it OR someone else purchases Respawn and decides to do what EA isn't.
Also I want to make it clear, I don't think Respawn is to blame here. This is all EA's doing. Why? Because its blatantly obvious. The game is taking the same turn all their other titles have and its really unfortunate. It's why I'm writing all these posts and hope others do the same, whether it be on this thread or others. If we make enough noise, it'll be difficult for them to ignore us. I say that... but it is EA, so maybe I'm holding onto too much faith...
I do agree with everything you said. It's really a shame that this game went in the direction it did, it could've been so much more.
A trend I kept seeing in the forums quite often, that I don't think is helpful to anyone is the fans who keep downplaying the existing concerns with the game. People keep sticking up for how bad the game has been managed and making excuses on the devs behalf. It's like they're missing the point entirely, or like they're offended (how dare you say that?!), or they're just so used to being ok with poor performance that it seems normal to them. Of course it could also be due to them not experiencing the same problem, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't exist either. I'm sure people have better things to do than come here to complain, so when they do it's probably bothering them immensely. Let's say someone's posting about matchmaking and how it's affecting them negatively, there will always be some high ranking fan popping in to say "nah, it's fine for me, so should be fine for you, get good, the devs are doing they're best". Now what happens when a moderator sees that post? He's probably thinking, yeah, the OP's crazy, our resident fans said so so must be true. Which brings up another point entirely - how many mods do you actually see report these issues to be investigated in an effort to improve the game? How many mods do you see participating in the discussions? Mostly I only see people talking to each other which is kinda pointless when what is needed is actual improvement. So what's the point really?
Regardless of how complicated and intricate these issues might be, there is no excuse for things not working like they should. It's a free game sure, but many people invest in it with time and money. The developers applied for these positions with the promise that they know what they're doing, they're selling a product! They should know the ropes inside out. But the results show a different story. I wouldn't employ such people, so why would anyone else? If it's a case of management actually planning things to be this way then I say all one can do is either live with it or move on. Why people are still putting up with this crap after 7 seasons is beyond me. At this point a lot of players are merely sticking around because of lack of options and reading through the forums will confirm this.
I never understood why everyone commented "dead game" on Twitter whenever Apex was mentioned. I get it now. I see this game being in huge trouble as soon as the next big thing hits the market, but since there's so little investment and money being put into it I doubt anyone would even care.
when friends join origin i get dropped to windows taken all known steps to turn that off but it doesnt work. so mid fight im sudonly looking at my desktop alot of times.
alot of money later and lvl 500 now still no Heirloom.. the reward after lvl 500 is a Joke (legend tokens) i got 200K...
if i after several atemts and forced apex restarts i finaly make it into the lobby i get dropped into squad games solo 19 of 20 times wich is a huge fail if you ask me
with duos i gave up on quing i get dropped solo all the time even if i try 100 times now (yes fill is checked).
Sbmm is broken AF..
the new character is a even bigger joke, she is gibby octane wraith and crypto all in one.
meanwhile the only true healer in the game (Lifeline) had her res shield nerfed out while nothing of her got buffed her ultimate takes way and way to long to load.
i agree on the release part of season 9 it was a complete failure and the problems presist even now.
support on the game is to say the least verry verry bad. (the answer you always get "we are looking into it") with no fixes ever.
Apex is a great game maybe even the best Br out on the web but it has serious problems.
