Audio Changes Every Single Update

Either my hearing is just getting progressively worse or the audio in the game changes every single update. I feel like I can NEVER find a sweet spot between footsteps/gunfire/soundeffect/overall environment. I use Dolby Atmos and have three pairs of headsets I use. Anytime I find the best EQ setting an update occurs and even though my audio presets are saved and unchanged the entire game audio gets worse and I can never get it back to the way it sounded before.

Am I crazy or does this happen to other ppl as well?

@DankToliet I haven't noticed it myself, but I think issues and changes affect systems differently. Some people get bugs, while others don't. Btw, how much did you pay for Dolby Atmos?

@swift07 I'm on Xbox One Series X. I actually got it for free for 18 months I think. One of my headsets came with a 2 years of free Dolby. I claimed with a code and ended up returning the headset back to the store. ><

If you have a pc available, then you could dl the software linked in the thread below and look at its preset apex settings, to give you a good starting eq point. Maby even run the game on pc with the sound software running, to get yourself an even more specific eq setting, to start using on your xbox. Or run the sound from your Xbox through the pc.

@DankToliet The audio is inconsistent with or without a recent update. But yeah, there updates where it definitely gets worse. I think I made a similar thread a few seasons back.

@DankToliet that's nice. I heard it's great for gaming. Maybe I should buy a headset with the code and then return them lol.

@NickBeam27 I use the Steel Series Arctis 7P+ where you can change the EQ to increase footstep sounds.

I've heard about audio getting messed up by Dolby Atmos, this used to be an issue for Overwatch too.
Not sure how well it would work with this game, so that could've been a cause.
Next to that, any bluetooth headsets can encounter audio issues here and there.
It might be hard to figure out the cause as it isn't always so easy to reproduce, it's not like the dev team has an entire rack of headsets to test it either.
Honestly, I hate how annoying audio issues are to resolve.

@Cheese9Man and these work well for Ps4? Do you hear enemy footsteps better with this particular brand headset?

@NickBeam27 I primarily use them on the ps5 and switch. Also works on the ps4. Yeah by lowering down the bass and highs you can hear footsteps better. There’s a tutorial on reddit on how to set the EQ.

Yes I can hear footsteps better lowering the down the volume of some explosions but if Apex decides it’s not gonna give you footstep sounds, it’s not gonna give you any whatever headset you’re using. LOL.
