Relevant question: how do you know what this enemy player did exactly if you did not hear any of it? I'm curious.

Just wanna say. If your headphones do not support digital surround sound, having either 5.1 or 7.1 in your settings is the reason you have missing audio, since signals are being split to channels that don't actually exist. And therefore not heard in your headset.
If you have regular stereo headphones, use stereo audio settings.
@Wingmannedbro That's funny. Oh right, game audio is not messed up, it's just that my headphones are trash!! Awesome!!
