@reconzeroWell that guy had a good point with “AA enables poor players to achieve good results quickly, and developers abuse this to sell their games. End of story“
That’s why it got created in the first place in the beginning and I mean all the way back in the beginning to singleplayer shooters etc.
But time changed, skill ceiling increased drastically over the last 20 years, it’s time to reevaluate the possibilities, I’ve seen enough incredible controllerplayers without aimassist performing on top lvl that you would never guess it’s without aa.
Aa exists now mainly for the casuals, if just apex removes aa then they might Tank some players, but also will get some back that left because of the state of aa and mnk.if aa gets removed from every shooter we probably wouldn’t even lose players we would probably lose some controller pro‘s but that’s about it I guess
The industry needs to shift, I’m glad valorant csgo etc are not screwing around with aa because the truth is the next step on that ladder would be that mnk gets aimassist to compete vs controller aimassist
what I mean by that is, if you give mnk now it 0.2-3 aa it would probably even out and be actually fair, but do we really wanna go there ? I personally don’t… what could come after ? Maybe we give higher aimassist to people with sicknesses or older age ? Cool I am 35 my reflexes went down over the last 10 years or so, I still hit master in apex relatively easy especially with controller but with mnk the reactiontime starts to impact my trackigncappability. And I used to be a high tier cs player so I would argue my reactiontime is still very good but definetly not what it was when I was 20 🙂
Well said. I guess I'm torn on the issue because removing aa will only widen the skill gap. And that would be okay if guns weren't already crippled with aim-fighting mechanics. Or if sbmm worked. Ever. But it doesn't. There's definitely an intellectual appeal to a truly level playing field, but that would, for me, rely on segregated lobbies. It would be hard enough to re-learn how to shoot against console players I knew were on an equal footing, but pc players have advantages controller players don't, or so I'm led to believe. And that would make the re-learn entirely not worth the trouble. Hence why we have the platform aa gap to begin with?
I think what this all boils down to is something you hit on perfectly: "Aa exists now mainly for the casuals...." I'm skeptical though about "if apex removes aa then they might Tank some players, but also will get some back that left." I'm not sure what percentage of the player base identifies as casual and what percentage as seriously competitive, but I would guess the game would lose far more players than it would gain back. Call me old and lazy, and you wouldn't be wrong on either count, but I doubt I'd stick around for that kind of grind.

I'm a roller player, and I can hold my own against other rollers (that aren't using strike packs or other cheat devices)... but against MnK, I get decimated by the lowest of levels instantly.
Please will someone tell me where/how I can get my AA assist to destroy everyone with ease all while I do nothing but let the controller track for me?
Please anyone? Please?
Please?
- CCbathwater2 years agoSeasoned Ace@ComicBookGuy2727 Ask Dezign. He once said he didn't have to touch his right stick while shooting. So he'd know. 😏
- 2 years ago@ComicBookGuy2727 You are not honest. If you are lemme know and we could seriously debate your nonsensical points.
Because now comes the funny part, how you know what a mnk and a controllerplayer is, are you watching everyone that kills you how he is looting ? And if controller how you know it’s because of strikepack?
Btw the avg pc playerbase is higher skilled than console so careful here if you try make a console vs mnk comparison - AymCTL2 years agoSeasoned Ace
I play on Nintendo Switch with a gyro controller so I don't get aim assist (the section with it is greyed out in settings when the gyro is active), but I decided to try Apex with a pro controller and turn on aim assist and I actually didn't care for it, for me it just seemed "too accurate" and it threw me off so that I missed shots that I know I would have gotten with the gyro.
That said, I don't really see the need for it if people are fast enough and can hold the reticle steady enough over the target. I really don't think it makes that much of a difference for someone that is a good player. I mean, of course there is some difference since it helps people stay on target, but I don't think it's strong enough to compensate for poor aim the way some critics seem to think it does.

Sorry, Ive been away on a much needed Vacation.
First off, I could care less what you think....Who are you again? - never mind, it doesn't matter.
My point, whether you believe it or not (still doesn't matter to me) is that my AA on console roller has never allowed me to decimate my opponents, especially on MnK.
It doesn't track for me, it doesn't move on its own, and It certainly doesn't flick, snap or trace and hasn't for the over 4 years now that I've been playing this game.
I simply asked for everyone stating that it does any of the above - please tell me how I can make my AA do the same. Anyone.... please.
Why does my AA not work like all the MnK players say it does. I want it do, trust me. But I can't make it do that. I simply want and wish it to.
Don't question me on my ability to be trusted in my words, as if I need to prove anything to you before I make a statement based on my experiences.
Thank you. : )

@ComicBookGuy2727It does move on its own though. It can even override my input, for some reason, when I'm standing on Siphon B, long-ranging AR to A/C, and someone zips up by the window, it literally overrides what I'm doing and goes zooooom, like my sens is on 6. Not that the reticle then is on this other guy, as usual it'll just drag behind the player, but yeah, that is apparently op.
Also, linear is like aimbot or something, they say. Tried it the other day, didn't see any difference. Other than the game felt more shakey. Plus I had to put deadzone on low or my drift would go zooooom. So I just went back to classic and deadzone off.
My theory still remain that 0.4 on PC > 0.6 on console. - reconzero2 years agoSeasoned Ace@ComicBookGuy2727
"I simply asked for everyone stating that it does any of the above - please tell me how I can make my AA do the same. Anyone.... please."
I've asked the same thing since this debate started raging. Since before. The only answers I ever get are derogatory and personal. No one has anything useful, instructional, or enlightening to say on the subject. Which makes me cynical and serves to confirm my suspicion that this flap is 85% people getting beat by some other player and then looking for a reason other than their own personal failure. Which I really don't understand when you're playing a game that has more than a few actual aimbotters in it, why would you not blame real cheaters instead of blaming a mechanic that doesn't line up your shots for you, doesn't snap to target, and doesn't hand out free kills? - 2 years ago@ComicBookGuy2727 You are not objective, that’s very clear. So that’s why I question your words.
I play with controller on pc I know what it does and what not, you cannot lie to me that simple…you might be used to how much aa does and don’t even feel it anymore, doesn’t mean it isn’t there and I can 100% tell that it pulls to target it even pulls up if someone starts climbing up a wall etc… - hayhor2 years agoHero@matzesingt It also pulls when dropping from the ship and to downed players. I find it pretty odd people don't notice. I notice it the most when it either A)doesn't let me move to another player due to someone crossing closer or B)It doesn't slow the aim and simply doesn't work
- 2 years ago@hayhor Yea is kinda weird, I just don’t like those extremes and we have unfortanetly both sides of the spectrum, one side pretends aa doesn’t do anything and the other side acts like it’s aimbot… hard to find people that try to be objective
- hayhor2 years agoHero
@matzesingtI'll just leave this here. This is me, with no input at all and no ads somehow following the lifeline.
- 2 years ago@hayhor That’s very bizarre, or are you trolling ? 😅
- hayhor2 years agoHero@matzesingt No that's for real. I wad bored watching people run into the ring. I hate that ring.
- 2 years ago@hayhor Interesting bug, but what it shows is probably how much aa really does, because the ad movement kinda veils it quite well
- ComicBookGuy27272 years agoSeasoned Ace
Maybe read your posts - You opened up your convo to me with "You are dishonest"... meaning, you called me a liar.
So let me understand your rational. Because my opinion and more so, my experience differs from that of your own - means I am dishonest and a liar?
Again, maybe focus more on your own words, rather than that of others.
There have been countless differences for so many over the years - one example, broken AA assist in firing range, whereas some it turned off completely, others worked fine, others only worked from behind a dummy only - confirmed by a community manager here on this forum. To just name one specific.
I run classic 4/3. I practice in firing range more than I play the BR. In firing range I can't get my sights to move in that way, even when I have the dummies set to strafe and I hold firm and allow them to move side to side in my sights, whether that me hip or ADS. It just won't do it for me.
I have in the past had it track very little and pull away from my target, that was 2 years ago, which did more damage than good. Now, I noticed the slow down isn't as slow as it once was, however the space of slow down seems for me to be increased or widened. Meaning as I approach the dummy in ads it will slow down earlier, yet moves during the slow down zone, faster than in the past. Which is making things seem more difficult for me to hit my targets.
Again, countless differences for many in regards to all sorts of things, from sound, to AA, to movement et cetera.
To call me dishonest because my experience is not the same as yours is a very, childlike thing to assume or say, considering you don't know me or have a clue who I am, how I was raised, my values, morals, up bringing and so on....
I find it, discouraging in the first place, to have to point that out to another adult... assuming you are an adult.
The AA debate will never ever be settled, agreed upon or see unity for all, period... that is one fact we can all agree on. So to accuse others of being dishonest or liars because they are not on your side of the debate, is asinine. IMO
- r1ggedgame2 years agoSeasoned Ace@matzesingt I dont care about the whole AA workings, all i care about is that its is an automatic which can be abused and thus lobbies should not be mixed in the 1st place or the Assitance should be turned of in mixed environments. Assisted and non-assisted crossplay should have been the credo from the beginning. would have saved us from the everlasting discussions
- CCbathwater2 years agoSeasoned Ace@r1ggedgame And PC capped to 60Hz, no MnK, and no configs when in console Mixtape? Yeah, okay.
- r1ggedgame2 years agoSeasoned Ace
@CCbathwaterwhat has this to do with the automatic ? nothing ... i want assist free lobbies for competitive integrity, plain and simple ... has nothing to do with movement, frames, configs or else. but we know from the past that the topic will always get shifted if the arguments run out ... and it should not be possible in the 1st place to get into console lobbies , thats some bug that gets abused but isnt really part of the topic ...
- CCbathwater2 years agoSeasoned Ace@r1ggedgame What I said.
Good, and I want the same in my lobbies, competitive integrity, which is impossible when Respawn (intentionally) caps us at 60Hz, limit input use, etc., and then just sit back for 4 seasons, not patching whatever hole in MM the PC's use to get into console Mixtape. Number 1 issue in the game.
Anyway back to reporting PC's in Mixtape. - r1ggedgame2 years agoSeasoned Ace@CCbathwater i dont think thats on intention with the 60 FPS, the engine is just such a mess to optimize for both consoles, hell even on my rigg the fps drop to under a hundered at times. im fully with you that preventing pc in console lobbies should be a top priority, another point against the stupid crossplay ... would not be possible if there wasnt crossplay at all

@r1ggedgame @CCbathwater
My son just started playing Apex on his Xbox and I have to agree with you.He only plays mixtape at the moment.
Performs well playing alone thanks to playing lot of shooters prior to this.
Whenever we play together (I am on MnK) he gets absolutely destroyed in those mixed lobbies.Could also be that my MMR is making the lobbies so hard or there is that big of difference in gameplay (my old eyes wont see a difference between 60 vs 120fps).
I am even considering making a smurf account to test if its the MMR because its really night & day. To put it short: Playing together makes him miserable.
Playing PvP shooters (Unreal tournament + Enemy Territory) with my dad was something I really loved as teenager myself so I would really appreciate it could be something we can both enjoy & have fun time together. And I know its not a skill issue on his side as he can whoop me 20-0 on Fortnite nobuilds playing on Xbox. Was really excited about Crossplay in Apex at first because of above. I am not an expert on how to make it more balanced but something should be done to level the playing field.

Why don't you try Rogue Company with your son? It's an arena shooter and as far as I know it's available for console and MnK. I play a lot of "Strikeout" in PUBS. It's not perfect, but it feels fairer than S17 in Apex (I haven't played Apex since).
- 2 years ago@ComicBookGuy2727 Issue here is that aa is not something based on experience, it’s a fixed value something you can measure… your or my experience is absolutely irrelevant… if someone acts like aa doesn’t do anything then he is plain and simply lying because it does quite a lot… that’s why I even said that many people might be so used to how much it does that they don’t notice, but it doesn’t change how much Input aa has.
Your settings etc I can’t talk about but it seems like they are not right for you from what you are saying. - r1ggedgame2 years agoSeasoned Ace@matzesingt Remeber the one time ... the outcry when they lowered the AA for console to the PC specs, and that was only tuning it down 0.2 ... and people got wild ... yea does barely nothing ...
- hayhor2 years agoHero@matzesingt Oh I don't think it's a bug at all. That's AA.
