My son just started playing Apex on his Xbox and I have to agree with you.
He only plays mixtape at the moment.
Performs well playing alone thanks to playing lot of shooters prior to this.
Whenever we play together (I am on MnK) he gets absolutely destroyed in those mixed lobbies.
Could also be that my MMR is making the lobbies so hard or there is that big of difference in gameplay (my old eyes wont see a difference between 60 vs 120fps).
I am even considering making a smurf account to test if its the MMR because its really night & day. To put it short: Playing together makes him miserable.
Playing PvP shooters (Unreal tournament + Enemy Territory) with my dad was something I really loved as teenager myself so I would really appreciate it could be something we can both enjoy & have fun time together. And I know its not a skill issue on his side as he can whoop me 20-0 on Fortnite nobuilds playing on Xbox.
Was really excited about Crossplay in Apex at first because of above. I am not an expert on how to make it more balanced but something should be done to level the playing field.
I have the same issues with my two sons. Who are gods at FPS games. They both play on MnK. Before that they played on console with me and everything seems fine. Now I can't even play with them in their lobbies because I am decimated in point of a second, game after game after game by MnK players.
So how its that possible if console AA is everything? Why am I not able to at least play as well in Mnk lobbies as I do in my console only lobbies, if not miles better because my AA should decimate MnK players with ease? How is it that I have an more balanced time against players with AA assist on console, than against MnK whom have none?

@ComicBookGuy2727. "So how its that possible if console AA is everything?"
Don't know. I had someone on Twitch the other day claim that when console players go to PC BR they get capped at 0.4. I was like, when did that happen? But he was very adamant about it.
Which, if true, then makes it even more infuriating that PC's in console Mixtape get capped by absolutely nothing. - hayhor2 years agoHero@CCbathwater That person on twitch was wrong. It doesn't do that.
- CCbathwater2 years agoSeasoned Ace@hayhor Hadn't heard of this either. But I don't really read patch notes anymore, so they could have changed it without me knowing.

that was a bug some seasons ago, was fixed right away but there was some type of outcry
- hayhor2 years agoHero@r1ggedgame There was a bug that changed it to .4 for everything, even console only lobbies. It is noticeable. There have also been bugs recently that fully disabled AA. I'm surprised there haven't been more threads about that.
