They are most certainly being used. Been paying a live gold to play online for nothing.

If you feel the game is using bots, you're always free to message those players.
Gold isn't much of a high rank so expect to come across low skilled players from time to time.@iBlockHead Fortnite uses bots, it may be the way things are going.

I wouldn't mind Apex using bots the same way Fornite does.

But first they need to handle the SBMM workaround where those high level players are able to get into low level matches, ya know, to avoid players getting a high K/D who shouldn't have one.
