When I remember last times I saved myself from AIM BOTERS, WALL HACKERS and dudes running on stim on me without SOUND was thanks to tap strafing. So yes, the biggest issue is your dumb brain whoever decided to remove the mechanic. And yeah, increase the damage of LStar, include more sniper rifles to the game, more LMGs with no recoil and you will make it - nobody's gonna play this garbage game anymore. Your player base gonna be a bunch of braindeads.
P.S. I think you should increase Wraith tactical launch to 2 minutes, it's still too OP. Yeah. I'm done.
