Ash got a pretty gnarly nerf tbh they moved her to skrim took away double boost and gave her back the mark death boxes on the map lol
Imo give his canisters either vision or movement impairment back, while in gas I think caustic should move faster or heal as a passive. Two extra canisters is cool but they need to drop the deploy cooldown because you throw 3 tanks and it takes like 12 seconds for the next tank and you max at 6 I think still. The damage they do doesn’t stack so it’s pointless having them next to each other and the fact you can one tap the bottom of an inactive canister is stupid as **bleep** there is no reason you should be able to one tap his canisters for any reason especially with how useless they already are, their main utility I feel like now is to basically block doors and let you know if someone went passed one His Ult is kind of awful too, nox vision should last any time his enemies are in the gas as a passive or part of his Ult, it either needs to do significantly more damage or last longer while having a bigger spread.. or apply a damage over time variant that lasts after they leave the gas or some kind of debuff. His hit box is insane because he’s built like a fridge and to combat that they gave him 15% fort and it ain’t doing jack **bleep** for anyone, the other fatties get multiple sheilds… caustic was such a fun character and has so much potential as well as most of these legends.
imo stop buffing and then nerfing the same legends, maybe after buffing those legends see the effect and then bugg the other ones to balance. I’ll admit ash def needed a bit of a nerf, and wattson definitely didn’t need more of a buff, revenant was swapped to assault and given a minor buff to his jump which is certainly warranted, I think he should have the ability to stay planted on walls and be able to hip fire from that position, pathfinder should also be able to anchor with his grapple.
The devs still have so much opportunity with this game yet I feel it will be squandered up until their efforts will be to little too late even if they start to change now unless it’s drastic.
They really need to remember we have battle royales we can play, we have shooters we can play.
we don’t have a tactical hero shooter br like apex, and yet they’re veering so far away from what made the game that different and exciting experience the fans grew to know and love the game for, just hope they figure it out soon.
Ash will still have the highest pick rate as long as "Dash" is exclusive to her. Nothing will change in this regard. We'll be seeing less of Ballistic and Alter (I think), but Ash will still always be in every game.
Dash has killed the variety of legends picks in this game.
Not to mention that this adds so much movement to the game, speeding it up so much that pubs usually end in the second or third round. Before you can find anything, half the squads have already been eliminated.
15% less damage doesn't mean anything at all with the current low TTK, where with such a hitbox you can take down Caustic with one R-99 or CAR magazine.
Unfortunately, if Respawn wants to maintain any balance in this game, they still have a lot of work ahead of them, and they need to understand exactly where they went wrong.
Reading Reddit, when the developers were answering people's questions, it was clear they were very proud of the Ash they had created. They were in a different world, as they didn't play their own game and didn't understand how this change had such a negative impact on many aspects of it.
By making Ash the way some people are writing, they added some "fun" while ruining many other game mechanics. In summary, this change brought more disadvantages than advantages.

I never understood why they buff legends making them insanely good than nerf them to shi, just make everyone balanced that way it doesn’t feel like u have to play that character just bc they’re broken. Devs don’t play their own game they don’t listen to their community it seems. State of apex unbearable
They don't listen to the community and never have. Perhaps they even consider the opinions of pro players and streamers. Everyone else is irrelevant to Respawn.
For many seasons, they've been increasingly bolstering the move meta – Ash, Loba, Pathinder, Revenant, Sparrow, Alter, Ballistic (ult), etc. – and all of these characters are highly playable.
Legends without good movement has long been abandoned, and nothing has been done about it. Caustic (and others) was killed off in this game thanks to a move that has become unbearable and bears no resemblance to Apex from the first 20 seasons.
This game took a risk like this: either something will come of it, or we'll bury this game in the grave. That's how it is. They've experimented in each of the last few seasons, and almost all the changes have been terrible. We have been playing the beta of this game since season 22 and are its testers.
S24 definitively ended the passive game in Apex Legends. It's all about movement and nothing else.
Ash is still incredibly strong, and now Revenant has joined her. The movement meta is constantly being buffed, and the defense meta is nonexistent.
On top of that, there's terrible matchmaking, where good solo players are left far behind by 3stacks and cheaters.
The saddest thing is seeing people with tens of thousands of kills and tracker graphics from the first seasons, yet they're openly using wallhacks. It's very sad. Additionally the number of low level accounts that don't even try to hide the fact that they are cheating is terrifying.
