Caustic gas bag not triggering

As if Caustic wasn't bad enough, I have had multiple occurrences today of his bags not triggering with enemy standing right next to them.

Cruised right through multiple canisters and no damage. PS4

His bag is a JOKE:
- You think you can use it for defense? Think again, you simply just need to run pass through it.
- You think you can use it for offense? you will die so fast before that bag land on the ground.
It only useful for blocking the door.
