Sorry to bring this thread back up from P3 but im late to the party as i was gone in favor of single player games and learning history and mythology.
While i must criticize EA what they have done, i must still say that i generally think its a step in the right direction. I think they should have banned any and all content creators and streamers that have abused it for atleast a couple months to hit them where it hurts, their income. I know that the "If they don't show this, it won't get fixed" excuse is a thing but its complete BS. If they had these good intentions, they would have tried to reach Respawn privately about it and then only showed it after they got ignored for a significant amount of time WITH proof. But of course they don't.
This is one of the things that affect gaming nowadays and shows how degenerate and unethical anything becomes when money gets involved. Like how many gaming channels advertise scam in forms of cans filled with overpriced sugered caffaine like GFUEL, Gamersupps etc. on their content clearly aimed at children (the average Apex/gaming channel subscriber in a nutshell) despite the fact its a dangerous drug for them and completely immoral and inexcusable. Its dangers did NOT get revealed yesterday in an obscure study nobody read. Its age restricted in most countries for a reason and im really asking myself how the companies and their glorified advertising mascots have not been in court over this.
And thats just a few of many things that * me off about the Gaming industry and their relation to content creators.
