Apex Legends is a great game but really how much longer is it gonna last? We need crossplatform play, this can only help in the longevity of the game and this game was supposed to be a Fortnite killer but that will never happen without crossplay. Why delay it, why not have had it to begin with? Let get this done already please.
XBox<->PS4 yes, but we do not want PCs in the same matches with console until all the cheating is fixed. Even then, mouse aiming is a distinct advantage over a controller so the only way I would support cross-platform is that a controller is "required" to play cross-platform on PC.

Yes please, but they would need to do input based matchmaking. IE if you're on PC and wanna play in console lobbies you would need to run a controller.
You say "why delay it"
Frankly. Respawn/EA doesn't have the say all, several giant multinationals need to come to contract agreements to make that happen, notably Sony and Microsoft.
Also, think of the sheer legalities involved having those contracts be compliant with multitudes of different legalsystems around the world.
This is everything but a clear-cut case.
