During quarantine I think this is the best time for EA and people to play apex. Some people play games just to have fun or is desperate to play with their friends on different platform. This will make the community happier by a large amount.
They stated they're working on making crossplay available, but didn't state a release date. Due to folk having to self isolate due to corona, development of the game has likely slowed down considerably and i imagine a non priority like crossplay is on the back burner.
I do agree it would have been a brilliant time for crossplay to release but considering the circumstances it can't be helped. 😛
