Cross progression is much harder to do than simply this.

Realistically they are merging their databases rather than assigning ID's.

There also have to be checks to make sure account data and retrieval is done properly.

Other than that, this is something that also has to be arranged with the console companies due to currency and skins gained by purchases on their platform.

They'll definitely use the ID's, though merging the databases is a much more permanent solution rather than letting each player move it over one by one. (Which itself would still require cross progression to be created, it's more of a technical issue so the same issue would present)

With so much money in the pockets something like this shouldnt be that hard, come on man every single f ing game has it instead apex, i really dont get why respawn has let this game die,
