Crypto EMP hitting teammates

So yesterday I played with a buddy and 2 times he did the EMP it stunned me as well. Should this be the case or what?

@Koochi-Q Yes, like Caustic's gas, it also affects teammates...

@Biochemikas Yea true, thanks everyone. Was just curious. First time I was like ‘WTH?! Does it affect me too?!’ Well screw crypto in that case! Don’t need another caustic causing me to be impaired for a few seconds!

Meh I'll keep zapping my teammates as long as we're mopping up those fights XD. I've never had that experience with caustic - he always feels like more of a hindrance than help with all that gas.
