I cannot understand, is it supported or not  (through Steam)?

That means there isn't any cross-progression across hardware platforms. So your progress wouldn't transfer from PC to PlayStation 4, for example. If you're playing on Steam and Origin you're still on the PC platform, so your progress would still be there.

@MihyanBgTechnically that's not cross progression because they are the same platform. You still run Origin in the background when you play through steam so it is still using your same origin account.

I’ve just made a switch from Xbox to pc and I don’t want to buy anything on origin because I’d rather be using steam. So my question is, will I be able to transfer my progress from origin to steam when it’s released on steam?

As long as you link your Steam account with the same EA Account you've been using to play the game in Origin your progress will still be there.

I'm afraid not. 

There won't be any cross-platform progression for Apex Legends. Your progress on Xbox wouldn't carry over to PC or vice versa.
