All they need to do is show the actual game server you connect to in game and the question would be answered.
Ye you see both in a game and from game to game indication in my message ☺️
Edit: Im in europe though and on PC.

@ZkepzEurope has a lot less server locations so you will see a lot less variation.
I think me being middle of the US limits my change. Darth is on the edge tho so if he connects to the other coast he will see a larger difference. Darth also plays into the wee hours of the West cost time, which means the rest of the US is sleeping. So finding a match when MM is based on speed of the MM will probably move him around a lot.
@DarthValtrexwhen you look at the lobby server list does the ping from any of them match the ping you see in game? That's probably the in game server you ended up on.- DarthValtrex4 years agoHero (Retired)@hayhor It does I can probably guess the server based on the ping. 80-90 is NY, 60's is Iowa.

@MandatoryIDtag My ping is consistent throughout the match for the most part. The inconsistency is on each individual match. If it starts out at 80 ping, then it's going to be 75-95 ping the entire match. If the match starts at 22 ping then it's going to be between 17-30 ping the entire match. Those swings don't matter much but the average ping does.
@hayhor Agreed, but I won't lie if I see NY servers I'm just going to leave the match before I even drop in. Days in which I can get consistent matches in below 50 ping range, I'll post a few 2k's and be in the top tier lobbies. If I'm having days with most matches in the 80+ range the game becomes nothing but death for me and I end up in bot lobbies. I already do leave most matches as soon as I see 70+ ping. I can sort of work with below 70.
