Does playing Apex make you feel more depressed than happy?
from randoms, to ranked, and sbmm as a whole, is Apex not as fun to you as it once was before?

- @soccerking122 Def not as fun as it was, but like all relationships, the beginning is oftentimes more fun than the latter moments due to the newness.

It really depends on the day. Some are better than others. But, overall, I'm having less fun than I was a few seasons ago.
For me, I don't really think it's what @Koochi-Q said. While there were issues when I first started playing (audio, Smurfs, SBMM, etc), there were things that didn't happen/didn't change until seasons in.
For example, the whole missing teammates thing. Yes, Leavers and AFK players have been a thing for awhile. But, it wasn't until S7 that I started experiencing matches where it's just me (and maybe one other person) in Trios, at the select screen, on a constant basis. Then, there was changes to the BP system. Those didn't start happening until S7. Same with the Forced LTMs and so on.
So, yes, while one could argue that perhaps I was having more fun in my early days, due to my "newness" with the game. I would also argue that a lot of my current frustrations with it came either due to more recent changes or exacerbations of previous problems. - @soccerking122 I wouldn't say depressed but when I don't accomplish what I set out to do in a session it leaves me with a bad feeling. Randoms do frustrate me from time to time when they do selfish plays. Because for all the talk of this being a team game people sure don't act like it.
Which is one of the main reasons I think solos should at least be an option. Especially if you have a base of over 100 million players I don't think queue times would be any worse than they are now. Plus solos just might humble a few of these TTV YouTube highlight wannabes & make them play more cohesively in team modes. If it ever did that I would stop playing, for a while or for good. Actually, though, I've been probably having a better time over the last few seasons than ever before, and I've been playing since pre S1.
A good part of the reason for that is that I am actually slowly getting better and better at the game. If I can keep up this rate of improvement it might only be 2-3 more seasons until I'm officially a mediocre player. 🥳
- @soccerking122 Nope. It is extremely rare I am mad at the game when I shut off. I would not play it is it depressed me.
No. As long as I keep improving I'm happy. I keep plateauing but then make a sudden jump.
My KDr of my first week of Apex (now over a year ago) was 0.09. My KDr after five days of S9 is 2.40 🙂
- @soccerking122 If you find the game frustrating then switch to another game for that day. I have days where all my randoms play like bots and I have to retire that day and play some good ol' Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on my switch. When I force myself to play when I'm already frustrated at apex, my aim usually got worse. :D
@Cheese9ManWell I play games sorta to be frustrated xD so kind of different from you. If a game doesn’t frustrate me, it’s not a game for me.
Frustration needs to happen in games for me. It’s why I don’t play games on ‘normal’ or easier difficulty. I almost always do hard or hardest difficulty in games right away. If I didn’t want a challenge (aka frustration) I wouldn’t play games.This was kind of why I stopped playing as much since end of S1. 1 out of 4 matches usually was a win and in every other or 1 in every 3 games I had 5+ killz. The game became too easy for me so I focussed more on just killing (was playing with a buddy at that time who went through the same thing) and doing random challenges I set for myself and a buddy.
I like to be challenged in life. Apex tho causes frustration in 2 ways. The good way; better enemies whom I have to fight and hopefully defeat and the bad way; bugs and all the stuff you can’t do anything against.
