@EREGDSI play on EU from NA and definately don't have an advantage with high ping. I cant loot items faster and enemies see me and shoot me before I see them. Now if they don't kill me initially, I get to shoot them around a box or behind a door. That's the only benefit and it is rare. I do noticeably better on my own servers but because of the way the game is coded I can compete on both. As someone with friends all over the world I'll take that.
@hayhorhope to meet you in the lobby, will have an advantage over you :D
Go figure how we can have such a different experience...initially I thought that I will not be able to play well on NA yet was forced to do so because only time I had to play was like around midnight when on EU there is lack of activity and to my surprise NA was very playable, no dying behind cover etc.
Actually, experience was so good that the next day when playing Apex it I guess remembered my previous game server and I regularly go into pub warmups in NA servers or thinking that I am still in EU lfg Discord group joined guys from NA and played like I was in EU only noticing that everyone speaks so clear English which is uncommon in EU.
Maybe NA lobbies are so much lower-skilled than EU that with all the lag I still feel superior and my brain converts that to a smooth experience when in reality I lag but my enemy brain lag even more :D :D :D
- hayhor4 years agoHero@EREGDS Well I have 1000s of hours playing with low ping NA and high ping EU. Lower ping I do marginally better. As I said tho, you can do well in either scenario. Anyone blaming high ping for poor performance is wrong. And anyone saying it gives an advantage is wrong. You might say those two things contradict each other but using lag compensation evens things out in the name of inclusion. For me it is done well and allows me to play with people all over.
As for the quality of people on a server debate. I won't go there. Of course someone in the EU will say their people are better. Then someone from NA will say they are and we will end up in another useless argument like any AA one.- e1b2b41da38ee6894 years agoSeasoned Ace
@hayhorI would disagree slightly and see the same logic going on here potentially from EAs side: similar to how they allowed legit aimbot in the game to enable cross play in the name of inclusion they did come up with this predictive code in combination with slow servers (comparing to other FPS/BR games) again in the name of inclusion yet introduced more than ever before no regs, weird which at times seems more like random hip-fire accuracy (read I again hit 7 with Eva close range).
Given I am sort of all or nothing type of guy - I would rather go the standard way, feel, experience vs. creating some good friendly fun on the planet without borders yet one which is highly inconsistent to a degree where each server behaves differently almost like you get into a server to play Need for speed and never guess which one from the range you would get loaded into 🙂p.s. one of the events I would suggest is to introduce higher speed servers for a limited amount of time - would be nice to see how the game runs on such hardware settings.
