The matchmaking, cheating, smurfing, & server issues have finally started to nail the coffin shut on Apex. Player counts on Steam haven't been this low since the 3rd month after release in January of 2021. The silence from Respawn and EA is also absolutely deafening. I honestly didn't think it could get worse than S20 but it has and everything points to the beginning of the end. Sad but nothing lasts forever, I guess.

@HappyHourSumwur I think we are at a point of no return at this point.Even the big update with a new map a lot of weaponchanges etc didn’t reverse anything. It just slowed the dropping down a little bit. Wich is unusual.Severe issues like audio and Inputbased lobbies are not addressed. The list can go on for quite a while but there is no point nobody is listening

@HappyHourSumwur I see some of the same people everyday when I login, so there is definitely not that many people playing. If steams count is 100k for the month, most weekdays probably just have a few hundred players with there being a majority on Fridays and Saturdays.The pc version has been pretty much hijacked by cheaters, and about 30% of console lobbies have. I think the console version may still go on, but I can't see the pc version lasting the year out if the fps industry follows the same patterns as the gacha jrpg industry. I'd give Console maybe a year longer than pc since it doesn't have as many issues, but it still has major problems that need to be fixed if the game is to last.

Several reasons why (for me) Apex is dying:- The lack of any communication between the community and Respawn- Really bad nerf/buff-decisions (legends/weapons are either op or useless)- No improvements over all those years regarding the server-quality- The Akimbos (which are just not meant as regular floor-drop as they are way too op)- The horrible matchmaking- The no-fill problem that still persists- I´m still convinced that they implemented bots into the game without telling usMost of all it´s the missing communication: What happens to all our suggestions for improvement, criticism, reports or positive feedback?What about our technical problems or questions?Where are the answers from Respawn Entertainment?

@reconzero "If Respawn launched an Apex Legends 2 tomorrow I'd be willing to bet the cheaters would have ruined PC in six months"Man you wish. Deadlock which was/is invite only based already has a cheater problem. Its always offer and demand. That day Apex dies the cheaters & cheat manufacturers also move to a new more popular game. For Apex 2.0 I would give it 2 weeks max if the hype is there. In fact I would actually be more interested in playing Apex 1.0 if 2.0 would be released due to above.

@Airish85 6 months? You've got to give them more credit than that. Most beta testing games on day one are already riddled with cheaters.Let's say, 3 days to be more accurate. Lol.I'm ready for it to be over. The constant wanting to play but knowing what the experience will be, is annoying... and heart breaking knowing what it once was and the amount of love I held for the game at one point. Now turned to sour, bitter discontent.

@HappyHourSumwur While I agree the MM is awful in this game, using a hot or contested drop series of 5 games doesn't really show anything. You can just get simply unlucky with no guns or bad guns while enemies get good ones. Now if you said we landed, looted a couple minutes and then pushed a team and got annihilated each time, that points more to a skill discrepancy.

@hayhorWe didn't really hot drop but the POI's weren't completely uncontested either. My teammates just literally died instantly almost every time. Not a single 1v1 was won by any of them. I got a few knocks but I'm definitely not good enough to win 1v3's in this game, especially with the types of enemies the matchmaking regularly puts me up against. It's just ridiculous and worse than it has ever been . . . and that is saying something when Apex has the worst matchmaking of any game on the market.

Good idea, but already too late. The player pool is inundated with people playing on secondary accounts. Get rid of all the cheaters tomorrow, tighten up the matchmaking tomorrow... you will still have a huge percentage of the player base who are playing an account which exists so they can present to the algorithm as something other than what they really are. So you may not actually see any diamond level banners in a silver lobby, but be assured that they are there. Probably in substantial numbers. Until Respawn decides that this practice is bad for the game then they won't do anything to stop it. Hell, they encourage it every time they post that there's nothing wrong with a streamer starting a new account to do a rookie-to-predator run. It infuriates me just thinking about it.

@Airish85While I agree with you that every game will die eventually, I consider apex way to young for that.

Especially when we consider games like pubg that are much older and still kicking and peaking like 3x the numbers of apex.

Things are not going in the right direction in apex and we need to be honest about it.the game was more popular than pubg at some point but pubg did address a lot of issues(increasing tickrate of servers for example, ranked solos mode and so on )while apex failed that’s why the numbers turned. I think saying the game is dieing is a bit dramatic but it has a downward Trend and that for a long time now. The issues causing a great game to fall out of favor need to be addressed else we will actually end up in a dead game.
