In one game it ended up 5 v 1 but fair play to the 1 they stuck around so it was fun playing hunt the enemy. It was taking ages though ... i quit on 19 team kills, second round.
Its much worse than arenas. They should have kept arenas but made it delayed auto respawns. 10s delay, 20s delay and so on. Winners first team to get all three enemies in delay respawn, or to destroy the enemy base or something.
Apex has a real problem with quitters in all modes. They should add an abandonment penalty in all modes except for casual BR.

I like it. Got me thinking of how you might blend TDM and Arenas together and make a legit, more fair mode.
For a 3v3 TDM game, keep the same "Best of 3, must win by 2, OT after Match 5" sort of system as Arenas. Respawns with "First to 15 Kills" to win a round (since 6v6 is 30, cut 3v3 to 15). If a squad is wiped with all 3 awaiting respawn, the squad with players still alive is transported back to their spawn to reset and minimize spawn camping.
Add a shield bonus of 1 bar more for each player down when people leave early. 2v3 you get Purple shields against the full squad's Blue, for example. Another option when down players is to have your shields start recharging a few seconds earlier.
The TDM they released is definitely half baked but I think they could do some things to save it.
