Fist fights

One aspect of my game that's not improving is fist fights. It doesn't matter if it's fists v fists or fists v gun (no matter whether I have the gun or not) nine times out of ten I am downed.

I cannot seem to rotate fast enough. When I started playing Apex I couldn't hit a thing so I turned my look and sights look sensitivity down really low and got better, then turned them back up when I felt ready so I am now 'default' on each. I have tried going the next step up but it's like playing when drunk.

Any tips on how I can stop being a * when the melee rumbling starts?

@EdwardDLuffy melee is just so awkward for me I usually opt not to use it

Yup, apex melee is bananas.
Besides who's playing FPS game to punch people? Run away and grab a gun, you can always kill the dude later lol.

@MandatoryIDtagI actually caved finally and got the mirage heirloom, smacking people with that is massively satisfying so if people want a melee fight with me I’m down for it haha

Lifelines my favourite as the audios really satisfying when you whack people.
Out of curiosity......has the pork chop made and appearance for you yet? 😛

@MandatoryIDtag I’ve been playing since day 1 and still didn’t have a single heirloom so thought I’d just go for it .

And no haha is that actually a thing?

@MandatoryIDtag I've tried running away but the nasty people chase me. Wraiths, Octanes and Lobas are real bullies.

@EdwardDLuffy You have to be the first to land the punch. If not you have to pull back and do a jumping kick. The idea behind the jumping kick is that they miss and you land a shot, taking control of the fight. If they land the first punch, you’ll get knocked back so much that it’s difficult to recover control and win the fight. So you sort of want to “reset” the fight and gain control of it. Whether you pull back or just jump and kick, the idea is to take the lead back.

I’m fairly good at boxing, I downed 4 people and did 420 damage boxing with out a gun on drop.

Do you have a friend who you can practice with in the firing range?
