Frozen In Control Mode?

I think I just experienced a rare (and very frustrating) bug or something.

I was playing Control and about halfway through, I died trying to cap a point. Usually, this is no big deal, I change my loadout (if I want to), pick a Spawn point, and we're good. Well, that's not what happened this time. 

What happened this time is, basically, my game frozen. At first, on the Spawn screen, there was no spawn points, but eventually I got the points, but no way to select them (the cursor totally disappeared). Then, I tried to change legends and respawn, but I was met with a "blank" screen (similar to that one you get in BR where you can't pick a legend). So, it was just the background color, my Legend, and their name. Lastly, i tried backing out of all the menus/screens and I found out I could "spectate" the game... Kind of. I could only see the small area where my body was when I died and the screen was all greyed out (similar to the "squad eliminated" screen you see in BR).

I stayed in the game, hoping it would just clear itself up. I didn't want to leave, knowing there's no backfill in this mode. But, nothing ever changed. Eventually, the game ended, it did the whole "you're the champions" thing and pulled up our stat screen for the match (your kills and ratings and all that). And that was that. 

I don't know if this has happened to anyone else, or what the underlying cause was, but it definitely wasn't fun. My two choices in that moment were either leave the match, or sit there and watch a screen for like 10 minutes. Not great. Whatever the reason though, I thought it would be best to bring it up here and see if anybody else has had the same issue and all that.
