Fun play and thoughts on casual

This is my original post...someone reported as spam... What the heck?

So I played a few hours yesterday and today on casual. What do you think of the matchmaking now? My squads were pretty much always matched, from what I could see;

player 1 high kill/level

player 2 mid kill/level

player 3 low kill/level

I have no idea what my level is at...🤔? But as an example... my Lifeline is about 1200 kills, pl2 had about 200-500 and pl3 was either 0-100(80% of the time was 0)  I think I had only 2 matches where I was pl2.

ppl were always irritated by the matchmaking, so what do you think about it now?

I don't mind it, but the biggest problem is that about 3/4 of my t-mates didn't use their mics...If I have more "experience" playing the game, I don't have a problem whatsoever giving some advice on play or giving suggestions on a bit of awareness when were getting into a fight. But when either of my t-mates don't use a mic...kinda frustrating.  I know, some don't have a mic. Understandable. Some use discord if the friends playing together. Understandable. But, it kinda defeats the purpose of "team play" when you can't even communicate with each other.

So, just a suggestion for any of you just getting into the game and on this forum.... try to communicate as much as possible and in any way you can with your t-mates.  It does make a world of difference.

Was playing elite on Asian servers, communication was great, but I kept getting tasered by the obvious players 😠 N\A server had more "fairplay" but no one was using their mics...so odd...🤨

  • I think a lot of games, but Apex especially, would benefit tremendously from a proper, good quality friends system. One that would enable each player to find exactly the types of people they should to be playing with. I honestly think it's the basis of a lot of the frustration that players feel. 🤔

It should be easy to find players who use mics and who have similar ideas on how to play etc. Someone out there is going to make a fortune from this eventually.

All I can say about Apex matchmaking is that the vast majority of "random" teammates are fairly bizarre in the way they play. How so many players can tolerate dying so quickly after landing I have no idea. Like moths to a candle. It's been like this most of the time for me in Apex. The weird thing is you can add friends and then they don't play the way they did when you friended them and they start to hot-drop lol.

    100%

I enjoy playing casual tbh, I don't feel the " pressure" as much as I do when playing with ppl I know. It's weird. But..whatever...it's just a game and nothing that will impact my life whatsoever.  Not crazy on their game play either. Just my type of entertainment. Just wish ppl would communicate more..But like I said, for some it may not be a option.

  • Personally, one of the main reasons I love this game so much is the ping system.

I want to avoid playing with a mic on in any always on setting, since I have a serious lung illness, and i'm plagued by a persistent and raw cough, and occasional bouts of suffocation, which make chatting unappealing.

I'd have to repeatedly pull the microphone out of my controller, which also cuts off the game audio from my headphones.

Id probably use mic if I was on PC tho, when you could just set a push-to-talk keybind. On console it's always on, or off altogether, so I don't play with mic.

I'm really sad to find you're unwell and wish you every strength in your recovery. I think you and many others show a lot of character, and not a little bit of audacity, in defying illness to play games and contribute positively. Good on you! :eahigh_file:❤️

I was just thinking when I read your post that there may be a voice app or mic with a feature where your voice is muted when it goes above a specified decibel range. 🤔 Which could give you more confidence that your coughing is being muted when you play. Which I'm sure, being a considerate person as you undoubtedly are, that you would possibly be concerned about. 🤔

I'll look into that, but 3rd party programs would only be useful when playing with friends 🙂

For now, ping is fortunately good enough to play with random team mates :eahigh_file:

Yeah...like I mentioned...some players are not able to use their mic...I guess you have a legit reason. I set my in game messages to voice. too distracting to read when I'm in a fight.
